How does the Ultra Setter work? Try it for yourself!

The Ultra Setter combines your branch balance valve, control valve, and differential pressure regulator into one valve to provide the highest level of flow control. The maximum flow rate is set using the GPM dial, and when the actuator is installed it adjusts the flow in response to your building’s heating or cooling demands. By maintaining full stroke modulation at all times the Ultra Setter is able to make much more accurate flow rate adjustments. In addition, the integrated differential pressure regulator automatically compensates for fluctuations in system pressure, further stabilizing the flow rate. The result is reduced valve hunting and improved efficiency, and ultimately reduced energy costs.

Sizing and selection are also much more simplified thanks to the Ultra Setter maintaining 100% authority at all times. No more Cv calculations are necessary and control valves no longer need to be undersized in order to ensure proper control. Check-Trol is the solution for circulator installations. Installing a Check-Trol on the discharge of the circulator gives you the features of a Flow Control Valve, Isolation Valve and Companion Flange. Another advantage of the Check-Trol is the minimal pressure drop, especially when compared to the losses that can be experienced when a check valve is installed internal to the circulator. The Bell & Gossett Circuit Setter Plus is a calibrated balance valve designed for pre-set proportional system balance. Since its introduction to the HVAC industry in 1968, the Bell & Gossett Circuit Setter has set the standard for proportionally balancing hydronic HVAC systems. This system balance method, developed by Bell & Gossett, assures optimum system flow balance at minimum pump operating horsepower. Valves can simply be pre-set using the B&G Circuit Setter Balance Valve Calculator, curve booklet G10091, or the System Syzer application for iPhone, iPad, or PC.

Circuit Setters are available in a wide range of sizes and styles to meet all your system demands. Brass valves, in sizes ½” through 3”, utilize a full port ball valve with calibrated nameplate and feature a memory stop and two integrated pressure/temperature ports for easy ???P measurement. Additionally, All brass Circuit Setters are CSA certified to be in compliance with the low lead requirements of California, Vermont, Maryland, Louisiana, and NSF//ANSI 372.

For larger sized systems, Circuit Setters are available in ball style (2½” – 4”) and globe style (4” – 12”). Our globe style valves include a multi-turn stem, calibrated nameplate, memory button for easy re-setting of the valve position after shut-off/isolation, and integrated pressure/temperature ports.

Bell & Gossett Coil Hook-up Kits are available in a wide range of sizes (1/2” to 2”) and styles to cover all of your system needs. Coil hook-up kits have been shown to reduce ordering and installation time and help reduce field problems. Standard kits are available for use with all of our balance and flow limiting valves, and non-standard kits can be designed to incorporate any combination of balance/flow limiting valves and accessories you choose. Each kit comes bagged and tagged with the location and flow rate of the coil on which it is to be installed.

Available kit accessories include the Model UBV Ball Valve, the Model UBY Integrated Y-Strainer and Shut-off/Isolation Valve, and the Model UA Union Accessory. The UBV and UBY feature a full port ball valve for shut-off/isolation of the coil from the rest of your system should maintenance or replacement of the coil become necessary. They include a standard pressure/temperature port for easy measurement of ???P across the coil and a drain valve to allow you to easily drain down the system should you need to perform maintenance or replace the coil. The UBY also integrates an in-line Y-strainer into the design ensuring your coils operate as efficiently as possible by providing clean system fluid and offers 2 additional accessory taps should you want additional pressure/temperature ports or air vents. The UA is installed to the discharge side of the coil and incorporates an air vent to aid with system draining and a pressure/temperature port for coil ???P measurement. All three components include a union tailpiece outlet connection making them easy to install and disconnect from your system components such as the control valve or coil should repairs or replacements become necessary.

Kits can also ordered with steel flex hoses in standard lengths of 12”, 18”, 24”, and 36”, or custom hose lengths can be requested starting at 6”. Bell & Gossett can also accommodate systems with insulation as coil kits can be requested with extended handles and extended and/or high velocity pressure/temperature ports, drain valves, and air vents.

The Bell & Gossett Circuit Sentry is a calibrated pressure independent flow limiting valve with a precision machined ball type shutoff valve, and commissioning measurement ports. The valve is designed for flow limiting-style balancing of both HVAC cooling and heating circuits; the valve is not for use in potable water systems. The use of the flow cartridge facilitates easy flushing of the piping upon commissioning the system.

The integral automatic flow rate cartridge maintains the flow rate in the controlled circuit. The optimum flow rate is maintained at a constant level even under fluctuating pressure conditions from as little as 2 PSI to as much as 60 PSI of differential pressure. In a properly designed system the valve automatically ensures system balance, regardless of changing pressure conditions normally associated with variable speed pumping. Integral P/T-ports for needle system and/or drain are available as options, as are a variety of end connections on valves from 1/2″ to 2 1/2″ in size, with either female NPT or sweat fixed ends, and a union end with sweat, female NPT or male NPT. Valves are normally equipped with 1″ long capped readout ports fitted with internal check valves.

The Bell & Gossett Triple Duty® Valve is a combination valve that provides all of the functions normally required on the discharge side of hydronic pump systems. The design combines three valves into one: a calibrated balance valve, a spring loaded check valve, and an isolation/shut-off valve. The combination of multiple valves helps save space and reduces installation time and money.

All Triple Duty® Valves features a calibrated nameplate designed to allow you to accurately balance your system and throttle excess flow. Model 3DV valves utilize a calibrated ball valve design that also provides complete shut-off. The larger Model 3D and 3DS valves utilize a disc style globe valve design that also features a soft seat design that provides complete shut-off and prevents valve chatter. Additionally all valves feature a memory stop or memory button to allow you to return the valve to its set position after shut-off. All B&G Triple Duty® Valves also include a spring loaded check valve to prevent backflow and gravity circulation.

Model 3DV Triple Duty® Valves are manufactured with a brass body, chrome plated brass ball, and glass filled Noryl check valve with a stainless steel spring. They include two extended P/T valves and extended stem to allow for ease of installation in insulated systems, and include a choice of FNPT or rotatable flange inlet connection. They are available in sizes 1” through 2” and are suitable for up to 200 psi and 250°F. Model 3D (angle pattern) and 3DS (straight pattern) valves are manufactured with iron bodies, brass discs with EPDM seats, and stainless steel springs.
