The typical regimen involves a loading dose of 50 mcg/kg administered over 10 minutes, followed by a continuous infusion ranging from 0.375 to 0.75 mcg/kg/min, adjusted based on patient response and tolerance. The maximum recommended daily dose is 1.13 mg/kg. Milrinone should be administered under close medical supervision due to potential side effects, including hypotension, arrhythmias, and headache.
