Description
Gallstone dissolution & prevention: Contains ursodeoxycholic acid (300 mg) to dissolve cholesterol-rich gallstones in a functioning gallbladder and help prevent new ones, particularly in patients undergoing rapid weight loss 
Liver-protective effects: Used in primary biliary cholangitis and certain liver conditions (e.g., cystic fibrosis-related liver disease), as it improves bile flow, reduces toxic bile acid buildup, and supports liver function 
Dosing regimen: Typically 8–10 mg/kg/day divided doses for gallstones; for prevention, 300 mg twice daily; in PBC, 13–15 mg/kg/day in 2–4 divided doses. Treatment may continue for months, with regular ultrasound monitoring 
 
Side effects & precautions: Common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, headache, rash, and pruritus. Not suitable for calcified stones, gallbladder inflammation or obstruction, or severe liver disease; use cautiously during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
