✅ Uses

Actrapid HM Penfill is used to treat:

• Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus

• Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

• Gestational Diabetes (if prescribed)

It helps lower blood glucose levels by replacing insulin that the body cannot produce or use properly.

• Taken subcutaneously, usually 30 minutes before a meal, to manage post-meal blood sugar spikes.

• Often used with intermediate- or long-acting insulin or oral antidiabetic medications.

⚠️ Side Effects

Common side effects:

• Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar): sweating, shakiness, dizziness, blurred vision, irritability, fast heartbeat

• Injection site reactions: pain, redness, or swelling

• Weight gain (in some users)

• Lipodystrophy: thickening or thinning of the skin at the injection site

Serious side effects (less common):

• Severe hypoglycemia: confusion, seizures, loss of consciousness
