Calcutta Chess Academy is a pioneer organisation in Chess Coaching in West Bengal which has been operating successfully since the last 24 years. The students/ex-students of this organisation include International Master, World/Asian Age-group Champions and several Champions in International, National and State level tournaments.
Khushi Dharewa, a student of Calcutta Chess Academy, became
National Under-7 Chess Champion in January, 2009 and
Asian Under-8 Chess Champion in August, 2009. She created a history in West Bengal Chess.
The Chief Coach of this institute Shri Shyamol Dutta is a former National-A player, former State Champion and the only N.I.S.-Trained Chess Coach of West Bengal who introduced group chess coaching for the first time in India 40 years ago.
