The automatic radial gate is specifically developed for use on spillways of dams, weirs and barrages. Its shell type leaf provides the necessary opening moment for its operation, when u/s water level reaches FRL.
No anchor bars required for trunnion girders, as the same are located near crest level of the weir /spillway and at mid length of RCC piers. This gives added advantage of lesser thickness of gate supporting RCC piers.
When u/s water level is below FRL, gates can also be operated by means of a trolley mounted manual hoist supported on a monorail gantry. No Separate Hoist Bridge is required, as in case of electrically operated radial gates.
No electricity required for gate operation. Hence there is no need for operating staff for opening and closing the gates. Also, no monitoring of reservoir water level required during monsoons for deciding time of opening and closing of gates.
The automatic radial gate required lower capital cost as well as lower maintenance costs as no electricity, electrical equipment and operators are needed for operation.
Our team is guided by Mr. Prabhakar D.Godbole, Managing Director of the company, who has a huge experience of over 39 years in designing, manufacturing and erecting various types of hydraulic gates, hoists and allied Steel/RCC structures.A recipient of Gold Medal from the World Intellectual Properties Organization (WIPO) , and award from National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) for inventing the ‘Automatic Tilting Gate’ for use on Irrigation, Water Supply & Power Projects, he holds a number of Indian patents related to hydraulic gates.
Our team is led by Mr. Prashant Godbole, Director of the company, who has a rich experience of over 25 years in designing, manufacturing & providing project management services for hydraulic gates, hoists and allied structures. A post graduate in Hydraulic Engineering, he has also been associated in development of mathematical models & related computer software for analyzing hydraulic behavior of hydraulic gates. He has presented 5 papers relating to design, manufacture & erection of hydro-mechanical equipment in national & international seminars organized by Central Board of Irrigation & Power & The Institution of Engineers (India).
