VEPAN 500MG TABLET contains Cefadroxil which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to treat bacterial infections in both adults and in children (weighing more than 40 kg). It can be used in the treatment of various bacterial infections affecting the throat, upper part of the respiratory tract, skin and soft tissues and the urinary tract.
A bacterial infection can be defined as a proliferation of various harmful strains of bacteria in the body. They can affect any part(s) of the body including the respiratory tract, urinary tract, eyes, ears, skin, soft tissue or bones.
VEPAN 500MG TABLET is effective in treating bacterial infections affecting different parts of the body including the respiratory tract, urinary tract, throat and skin and soft tissues.
VEPAN 500MG TABLET must be taken with meals to avoid unwanted gastrointestinal side effects. Make sure to complete the full course of treatment with VEPAN 500MG TABLET without any interruption. Do not miss a dose or stop taking VEPAN 500MG TABLET without consulting your doctor as it may lead to growth of harmful bacteria within the body which cannot be further controlled by VEPAN 500MG TABLET.
Before taking VEPAN 500MG TABLET inform your doctor if you are going to have any blood test (Coombs Test) to detect blood count or any chemical urine test to detect blood sugar levels. VEPAN 500MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to penicillin antibiotics (such as amoxicillin, ampicillin) and in patients having severe kidney impairment (including dialysis).
VEPAN 500MG TABLET should be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women only if prescribed by the physician. It is generally not recommended for use in children aged below 6 years or in those who weigh less than 40 kg.
The most common side effects of taking VEPAN 500MG TABLET are nausea, vomiting, stomach pain and diarrhea. These side effects may probably reduce if VEPAN 500MG TABLET is taken along with meals. However, consult your doctor if any of the side effect bothers you.
