Ceftriaxone Sulbactam Injection IP

Ceftriaxone Sulbactam Injection IP is a combination antibiotic formulation containing Ceftriaxone (a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic) and Sulbactam (a beta-lactamase inhibitor). This combination is designed to enhance the effectiveness of Ceftriaxone by inhibiting the action of bacterial enzymes called beta-lactamases, which can break down and deactivate the antibiotic. Ceftriaxone acts by interfering with the bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death, while Sulbactam prevents bacterial resistance mechanisms, thereby broadening the spectrum of antimicrobial activity.
