"SHAGUN" means auspicious. Shagun Overseas was formed in the the year 2001 with a view to focus on the development of Eastern India Handicrafts. Shagun is strategically located in Calcutta, the business hub of Eastern India trading and manufacturing facility. It has the advantage of its own port, airways and other necessary infrastructure for domestic and foreign trade. It all started when we were fascinated by the immense potential of natural bounties and talents of the eastern India Artisans and their skills. Eastern India has very good natural resources which is either wasted or not productively used. Shagun was formed with a very clear objective for the upliftment of eastern India handicrafts. Today shagun has been able to create a mark in the heart of the people by their creative product range which is appreciated by people from all works of life. What gives Shagun Overseas the winning edge is its teams' eye on quality and fair trade practices. We conduct training courses to ensure that each and every artesian have proper understanding and skills about the production process; right from the row material collection till the finished product. Beyond business, the organization has also taken care to initiate the growth of a number of ancillary units, which supply us with finished products, in turn of organization provide them with complete financial, technical, raw material and equipment support. The organization has also been able to uplift the standard of living for many economically backward families, by providing employment to their women folk.
