Chemical Peels

It's the procedure of applying chemical solutions such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, acid, carbolic acid, etc. to the skin which eventually makes it blister out and thus peel away leaving fresh smooth skin behind. It would free the skin of problems such as wrinkles, dark spots, blemishes, etc... This improves the overall appearance of the skin hence removing the tan and dull look. Chemical peeling may be done on face, neck and hands.
Their major uses are:
- Treatment of acne
- Reduction of wrinkles and fine lines
* Reduces dark spots, freckles, etc.
* Removal of scars
Peeling of skin makes it more photo sensitive, hence its best to avoid exposure to direct sunlight. If that's not possible one should ensure that sun block lotions and creams containing capable of protection against UVA and UVB rays are used.
