A derivative of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) is a thermoplastic produced by the chlorination of the PVC resin. Threaded inserts in the transition fittings are made from brass to withstand chemical corrosion even at the elevated temperatures.
