Distance pendulum

In one vibration, the bob of a simple pendulum travels a distance that's four times the amplitude. The amplitude is the angular displacement of the bob from its mean position to its extreme position. During one time period, the bob moves from the mean position to the extreme position on one side, back to the mean position, to the extreme position on the other side, and back to the mean position again.
