This alloy is manufactured by heating together the mixture of both oxides MnO2 and Fe2O3, with carbon in that of electric or blast furnaces. The carbon is available in the form of coke and coal. This carbothermal reduction process employed is very flexible. The slags can be successfully reprocessed to Ferro Silico Manganese and also this is further refined to Low and Medium Carbon Ferro Manganese.
