Fiber Optic Converter
Operating temperature | Minus 40 to 75 degree C |
Power Input | +10 ~ +30 VDC |
Data Rate (Mbps) | 3.2 Gbps |
DESCRIPTION:
The DCB RS232 to Multi-Mode fiber optic converter is a compact, serial copper to fiber converter. The converter is externally powered, available in a 12, 24, or 48 VDC and 120 VAC versions. All of these units are wide industrial temperature rated.
The unit bidirectionally converts RS232 to Multi-Mode fiber. The small stand alone box is easily mounted in a 19" rack with four units per 1U shelf bracket, or more commonly mounted using DIN rail clips. Typical application is from one RS232 device to another RS232 device over Multi-Mode fiber. Typical performance is -34.4 dbM receive sensitivity, 2 km distance with 62.5/125 fiber cable. Control leads are not passed through or converted. On the interface converter, the green connector is DC power, the 9-pin connector is RS232. Pin 2 is Receive Data, data into the adapter; pin 3 is Transmit Data, data out of the adapter; and pin 5 is Signal Ground. Pin 7, RTS, has a positive voltage out of the unit and not otherwise used. These pins are identical to those on a 9-pin PC interface. All the other pins on the 9-pin connector are ignored.Several interface cable adapters are available for connecting the unit to other devices using RJ-45 UTP cable or standard RS-232 connector cables.SPECIFICATIONS:
