Haryana Tour Package
Haryana is a state in the north of India. It came into existence on 1 November 1966 as a newly created state carved out of the Punjab state on the basis of language. It is bordered by Punjab and Himachal Pradesh in the north and by Rajasthan in the west and south. The river Yamuna defines its eastern border with Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. Haryana also surrounds the country's capital Delhi on three sides, forming the northern, western and southern borders of Delhi. Consequently, a large area of south Haryana is included in the National Capital Region for purposes of planning for development.
The state, also called as "The Madhyama Dis" (middle region) of the Later Vedic Period was the birthplace of the Hindu religion. This was the area where the first hymns of the so-called Aryans were sung and the most ancient manuscripts were written. Most of the state lies in the plains surrounded by the Shivalik hills in the north, Aravalli hills in the west and Yamuna River in the east. Chandigarh, which is a Union Territory and administratively not part of Haryana, is the capital of the state.
