House fly is also one of the important pest of house hold. They are associated with different pathogenic diseases like typhoid, cholera, dysentery, tuberculosis etc. especially the problem of flies are more in rainy season.
There is no one specific treatment that can effectively control or eradicate house flies. It is only possible through an integration of several methods within a control programme. Basically control methods for the housefly can be divided into two strategies, i.e. indirect and direct control strategies. Indirect Control Strategies 1.Source reduction/sanitation
Source reduction and sanitation is the best method of reducing or even eliminating the flies. Good housekeeping which involves immediate cleaning of food spillage or leftovers with germicide and covering of waste disposal units.Direct Control Strategies 1. Using Traps
No matter what is done to prevent flies entering premises, some of them will ultimately get through. Once they are inside, the cleanest and most effective way of eliminating them is the use of Flying Insect Trap (FIT).
The FIT is a flying insect trap incorporating a decorative light, with bright attractant (black-light fluorescent tube) and large sticky trapping pad. The system works quietly and is presentable at any location.
