Intermediate Frames

Intermediate Frames or Rigid Frames provide support to the intermediate section of a primary structure in a Pre-Engineered Building. Pre-Engineered Buildings are steel structures made up of interconnected primary framing system, secondary framing system and click sheeting. The framing systems as well as the sheeting are manufactured just as the clients require. These steel structures are rigid and lightweight available in different sizes and forms. The most important structural system is the primary framing system. The primary framing system is normally incorporated in all Pre-Engineered Buildings. According to its width, the primary framing system is the same on both sides of the central ridge line. The primary framing system can be more complex with asymmetrical features but in-depth knowledge of Structural Engineering is necessary for a better understanding of those complex arrangements.

The primary framing system includes those structural pieces that put the weight on the base of the building. Intermediate frames are those essential structural components of the primary framing system that bears the entire load of structure. The rigid or intermediate supports are formed as joined parts. Intermediate frames are manufactured as rectangular empty structures, readymade shapes or as channels for the complicated primary framing system. The intermediate columns are held up by linking bolts, fixing bolts and projected supports.

Primary framing system, which includes the intermediate frames, is structured meticulously so that it can be held up by joining the members of the framing system. Other members of a primary framing system are End Wall Frames, Crane Brackets and Wind Bracing. In a Pre-Engineered Building, other than the primary framing system, secondary framing system and click sheeting, many add-ons are also used in accordance with the need of the clients. These add-ons are crane, canopies, trusses, fascias and mezzanine floors. Primary framing system has popular use in spacious commercial facilities with low levels.
