Lead Lined Waste Monitor Chambers For Radiation Measurement
These waste monitor chambers with stainless steel liner, are manufactured for or client, TSA Systems, Ltd. per their provided specifications. The product is intended to measure radiation contamination of up to 500 pounds of containerized material. We use a range of base materials, including: A36 plate, GR36 plate, A5000B, A513 tubing, #6 lead shot, ½" to 1" thick lead plate, 16-gage and 11-gage 304 stainless steel. Our primary manufacturing processes included plasma cutting, MIG and TIG welding, shearing and sawing, in addition to machining, drilling and tapping, and punching. We line each chamber with ½’’ to 1’’ of lead plate, which is then enclosed through our welding process. Upon completion of the units, we then apply red primer, black automotive quality paint, and a clear coat during metal finishing and assembly of the chambers.
Completion of the barrel waste monitor chamber and stainless steel chamber liner takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks: the final barrel waste monitor chamber measures 38.5" long, 39.25" wide, 48" high, and weighs approximately 8, 000 pounds.
