Malto Dextrin is a creamy white hygroscopic powder, a moderately sweet polysaccharide, used as a food additive. It is a midway product between starch and glucose when hydrolyzed by enzymes, typically by Bacterial Alpha Amylase and then additional conversion to get the desired DE, which ranges between 4 and 30.
It has a wide range food-additive and nutritional use in the world. It is used as a bulking agent in many dry-mix food products in the Bakery and Confectionery sector. It is also widely used in Infant formulas and for patient-care.
