Product Description

Handled many consumer non-durable products (FMCG), and consumer durable products for 42 years after MBA (Marketing) during 1972. For last 25 years, consultancy experience of total 218 companies, out of which many were consumer product companies.

For first 17 years after MBA, worked for 8 different companies till 1989. Last 3 jobs were as All India Sales & Marketing Manager for consumer durables and consumer non-durable (FMCG) products. Launched all the 3 companies nearly from zero level and created distribution and retailing network, opened zonal offices in India etc. Personally appointed distributors, stockists, wholesellers, C & F agents, opened depots, did retailing. Also, ensured this through junior managers and entire sales team.

Before this, 2 jobs were as Regional Manager for consumer products.

Consumer products handled as a manager are magazines, dry battery cells, Fuji film, cameras, flashguns, OTC products like pain balm, food products like ready mix of idli, vada, sambar, gulabjam, custard powder, baking powder etc.

All the jobs were based in Mumbai. I travelled very widely in India for each company.
Handled recruitment at all the levels, training of sales team, setting up sales organization, setting up operating system for sales department, designing MIS, monitoring & motivating  sales team, pricing, trade discounts, market research, advertisement campaigns, sales promotion, performance appraisal etc.

This gave an excellent ground level base of experience. This helped tremendously when I started as Marketing & Management Consultant.
I have helped to launch many consumer product companies from table discussion stage. Also increased sale of existing companies, modified working systems of sales and marketing departments.
