About the Company
There is an evident need for a revolution in the way HR industry works in India. One would frequently find people having an outstanding skillset but they end up doing a work not destined for them. Sixth Gear is a step towards such a streamlined workforce management. We aspire to be a trigger for renaissance in HR industry. Mukesh Thapa, an IIT-BHU graduate, went through a series of events which gave birth to Sixth gear. The starting of year 2014 Mukesh met his cousin sachin, an electronics graduate. A top ranker in his school days, an outstanding orator and amongst the toppers in college. This guy has been looking for jobs from past 2 years. His college was not able to place him (we all are aware of off campus placement scenario in India). Mukesh could immediately recall at least 5 people with similar capabilities, ending up doing nothing. He met his friends working with Maruti Suzuki the very next day. He found that there were some raw material suppliers to Maruti which were looking for fresh engineering graduates. They had a problem; due to lack of resources (Less money to advertise) they couldn't fill that position.
Mukesh immediately contacted the raw material vendors and got 3 out of those 5 people placed. A general question came to his mind. What about lakhs of such vendors (Yes lakhs! Don't believe it, have a look at yellow pages in some market place) who need graduates with decent technical skills. They pay less salary but they provide an excellent platform to learn. He then thought of launching a career consultancy for such small jobs. (Wait! This is not the solution to the problem. The problem is much bigger.) Mukesh then founded a site "Career Avenue".It was supposed to be a career portal and a place where such jobs are available and can easily be found out. But that failed miserably, reason was obvious: who will find the jobs and post them?
