Versatile starters for any multispeed motor or application
Sprecher + Schuh multispeed starters can produce multiple constant speeds by specially arranging the windings of multispeed motors. Motors with two separate windings or one reconnectable winding can be used. All Sprecher + Schuh multispeed starters feature our new CAT7 and CAT6 motor starters. These compact starters offer intermediate sizes to better match specific motor requirements. This equates to generous wiring space and less wasted horsepower capacity. Advanced CEP7 solid state overload relays are used with starters. See Section B in this catalog for a full description of these excellent motor protection relays.
Choose the right starter for your application Our custom controls panel shop assembles a variety of multispeed starters.
- Multispeed motors fall into three types, all with differing torque characteristics. Selecting the proper type depends on the connected load.

- Constant Torque motors deliver the same torque at each speed, and horsepower varies directly with the speed. Typical applications include reciprocating pumps, conveyors, mills and mixers.
* Constant Horsepower motors deliver the same horsepower at each speed and the torque varies inversely with the speed. Typical applications include machine tools such as drills, lathes, mills, punch presses and saws.
* Variable Torque (variable horsepower) motors deliver a torque that varies directly with the speed and the horsepower varies directly with the square of the speed. Typical applications include centrifugal pumps, fans and blowers.

About the Company

Nature of BusinessAnimal / Crop Production
IndiaMART Member SinceDec 2010

sprecher + schuh has provided reliable control and protection solutions for its customers since 1903, when the company was founded in aarau, switzerland, by two entrepreneurial engineers. Carl sprecher and heinrich schuh combined their talents to produce some of the most innovative low-voltage control products of their day, including automatic switches, overload devices, high-interrupting capacity fuses, and some of the first oilbreakers.

along with a mission for continual product development and improvement, sprecher + schuh was equally interested in promoting the growth of the industry as a whole. In 1906, sprecher + schuh played a key role in the formation of the international electrotechnical commission (iec). The visionary stance of the iec was to standardize electrical equipment for the world market, and ultimately facilitate the application of products like ours internationally. Through efforts of the commission, such standards as din and vde were adopted with the participation of manufacturers ? but more importantly, with the support of industry engineers and people who actually used the equipment.

in the years that followed, we expanded our participation in north american based industry organizations to also include the national electrical manufacturers association (nema), the canadian standards association, the association of high tech distributors (ahtd), the electrical apparatus service association (easa), and the national association of electrical distributors (naed). By actively engaging with other members through these organizations, we are best able to educate ourselves regarding the needs of the industry and the needs of the people our products serve. We design our products to answer those needs with quality, reliability and value.
