Oil & HNS Spill Response Services

Since its inception in 1997, VirajCSE has put in place systems and procedures across India for the prevention and control of environmental marine pollution, and the maintenance of the Earth's marine ecosystems. The organisation has been a member of ISCO (International Spill Control Organisation), an NGO registered with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), since 2007. This association provides VirajCSE with the international exposure it requires to successfully handle any oil or HNS spill situation in domestic or international waters.
The comprehensive oil spill response services offered by VirajCSE include planning and prevention, equipment and systems management as well as damage control and clean-up programmes. The successful completion of more than twenty projects till now is the testimony to the efficiency and professionalism of VirajCSE.

Bioremediation
VirajCSE has gained a lot of experience over the last decade and has realized conventional clean-up methods for oil spill response as inadequate. These methods fail to obliterate the pollution problem, as disposal and treatment still remains to be completed.
VirajCSE has also found that chemical dispersants (OSD), irrespective of their efficacy, only disperse the oil and are also known to generate toxic substances. That is why these substances are not recommended for coastal waters below 20 metres of depth, in stagnant waters and therefore, are considered only as the last alternative by conscious maritime nations and the IMO.
