PCBN Cutting Tools
CBN cutting tools are used to machine non-ferrous and non-metallic components. These Tools are most frequently applied in the automobile Industry for heavy and light motor vehicles and are capable of machining various materials such as hypo and hypereutectic aluminum alloys, copper, bronze, babbitt and abrasive plastic composites.
PCD cutting tools can machine dissimilar materials such as aluminum engines with grey cast iron cylinder liners, either cast or pressed, along with the aluminum blocks.
Ferrous material is not recommended for PCD tools as diamond being a carbon compound has an affinity for iron. But for certain cast applications where high speed is not attainable and where cubic boron nitride (CBN) cannot be used, PCD tools perform very well.
At low speeds, PCD Tools achieve much better results than conventional tools as they are able to maintain high consistency and accuracy for a very long time.
