UltraTech Pervious is a special concrete with a high porosity used for concrete flatwork application that allows water from precipitation or other sources to pass through, thereby reducing the runoff and ensuring recharge of ground water. It has designed connected pores, which can allow water to pass through from top to bottom. It has been designed with narrowly graded coarse aggregate held together with cement paste, having little or no fine aggregate. UltraTech Pervious offers numerous environmental, structural and economic benefits and is an excellent alternative to expensive storm water management methods. ItIts is ideal for pavements, alleys, sideways, parking areas, sidewalks etc . |
Features of "UltraTech Pervious" - The maximum size of coarse aggregate may be either 10mm or 20mm, with design porosity of 15-25%.
- The compressive strength of the concrete is 3-18 MPa. The size of pores is in the range of 0.5-0.8 mm.
- UltraTech Pervious offers numerous environmental, structural and economic benefits and is an excellent alternative to expensive storm water management methods.
- It has lower life cycle costs, owing to good strength and excellent durability.
- The maintenance of UltraTech Pervious is also easy and cheap.
Advantages of "UltraTech Pervious" - Reduces development cost
- Smaller capacity storm water drainage
- Lower investment for rain water harvesting
- Reduces overall runoff from an area and also reduces the total amount of pollutants in the runoff
- Helps maintain growth of trees despite paving
- Reduces pooling of water and hence glare at night
- Has unique surface finish and enhanced traction, which provides better skid resistance to light traffic, at the time of rainfalls
Usage Areas of "UltraTech Pervious" - Pavements with low volume of traffic
- Residential roads, alleys, driveways, parking areas
- Sidewalks, pathways, tree grates in sidewalks
- Low water crossings, Curbs, gutters
- Aquatic amusement centres, swimming pool decks, zoos
- Fish hatcheries, well linings
- Hydraulic structures
- Drainage ditch lining
Instructions for using "UltraTech Pervious" - Prepare properly compacted sub grade
- Place 8" – 24" open graded stone (pebble) base (this prevents saturation of pervious concrete)
- Place pervious concrete of appropriate thickness over the base course
- Curing to be started within 24 hours and should be continued for at least 7 days
