We started as a trading house dealing in paper bags and cellophane sheets in the year 1963. As Mahendra Enterprises the founder Mr. Baboolal V. Mehta was a graduate in B.Com and he was very dynamic with great sense of marketing. Those days everything was loosely packed and delivered. In the year 1964 plastic bag were very scare in use. He introduced polythene bags first to the garment retail trade and then to retail kirana stores. He used to make bags in the night with the help of his family member and deliver those bags to his clients in the morning on a bicycle.

In the year 1972 his elder son Mr.Mahendra B.Mehta a B.Com graduate joined him. He was much faster than his father, he was more workaholic and a marketing genius by birth. He sensed the potential of this wonderful invention called plastic bags. Then there was no looking back and by the year 1975 Mahendra Enterprises was the largest trading house in shopping carry bags in south India, catering to the market in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh & Karnataka.
