We developed your jacket for intense wintry conditions:intense cold, snow, blizzards. The insulation is provided by thick wadding made of a synthetic component that insulates by trapping air in its fibres (double layer on the body and single layer at the arms). We added a long inner flap underneath the zip to stop cold air from entering. The system is supplemented by a drawcord at the hem to make the jacket comfortable down to -20°C.
How does my jacket protect me from outdoor conditions?
Your jacket is designed with a waterproof outer component that keeps out water and wind. To keep you warm in winter you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet). The anti-blizzard hood with detachable synthetic fur, wrist sleeves and a rising collar prevent cold infiltration. The high handwarmer pockets with fleece lining are perfect for protecting your hands in a comfortable position.
How can I be sure that my jacket is 100% waterproof?
We designed your extreme cold jacket with a coating on the outer fabric to make it waterproof.We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Components with a 2, 000 mm rating can withstand the pressure of a 2, 000 mm column of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours).
Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have waterproof seams?
Your jacket is waterproof thanks to its taped main seams. Waterproof tape is added to the seams inside the garment to make them watertight so that water cannot enter through the more vulnerable areas. We validated the waterproofing with a shower test specially designed to replicate the conditions of a two-hour shower. We also wore it in the field in all weather conditions to make sure that it is suited to your activities.
