DAY 01:
Welcome to Sri Lanka the Pearl of the Indian Ocean! On to Kandy, en-route visit the Elephant Orphanage.
"Ayubowan"- Welcome to Sri Lanka. Today, embark on your tour of Sri Lanka. On arrival in Colombo you will be greeted by your friendly Tour Manager/local representative outside the baggage hall area at the airport. Sit back in the comforts of your coach, as we drive to Kandy. En-route visits the 24 acres elephant orphanage in Pinnawala. Be captivated as you see elephants of all ages bathing in the river. This is also a breeding place for the greatest herd of elephants in the world. Afternoon is free at leisure. Overnight stay in Kandy.
DAY 02:
Start the Day with the tour of Kandy. Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens and the famous Temple of Tooth Relic of Buddha.
Enjoy an American Breakfast at the hotel. The hill capital is another "World Heritage Sites". It was the last stronghold of the Sinhalese Kings during the Portuguese, Dutch and British rule and finally lost to the British in 1815 after an agreement. To the Buddhist of Sri Lanka and the World, Kandy is one of the most sacred sites as it is the home of the "Dalada Maligawa" - Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. The Bathing Pavilion (Ulpenge) is by the Lake and in the Center of the lake is the Island called "Kiri samudraya" (Milk white ocean) used by the kings as the summer house. Today it is the center of Buddhism, Arts, Crafts, Dancing, Music and Culture. Visit the Royal Botanical Garden that prides itself on an amazing variety of orchids, spice trees, palms, bushes, as well as tropical plants and flowers of many kinds In the evening, we visit The Temple of the Tooth Relic - the focal point of the city with thousands of visitors worshipping to invoke blessings from the Sacred Tooth of Buddha. Overnight stay in Kandy.
DAY 03:
Onto Bentota.
After an American breakfast, today we precede to Bentota the beach destination of Sri Lanka. Facing the Indian Ocean, a tropical lagoon and a major river. Bentota offers water Sports possibilities nowhere else to be found. Apart from swimming, body-surfing or diving in the sea, you can jet-ski, windsurf, parasail or enjoy a romantic river safari on the river and lagoon Safe swimming conditions combined with fun water sport and exciting excursions are providing for the ideal background for relaxed holiday in Sri Lanka. Being one most established beach resorts in Sri Lanka, Bentota is known for its professional touristic infrastructure. Overnight stay in Bentota.
DAY 04:
En-route to the "Turtle Farm"
After Breakfast leave to Galle En-route visit the Turtle Farm in Kosgoda. Where you can see several species of turtles, specially the hawksbill, are endangered. Most vulnerable of all are their eggs, which are left uncovered on beaches all around the coast. The good will of Kosgoda area fishermen, who brings these eggs gratis to the hatchery, has led to the hatching and release of 100, 000 young turtles in only two years since the hatchery opened. An endowment by the Hasselblad Estate was responsible for the establishment of this hatchery.
DAY 05:
Onto the capital of Sri Lanka - Colombo.
Enjoy an American breakfast at the hotel and rest of the morning is free at leisure to explore the hotel or to enjoy different activities at the beach on your own. Next, we proceed to Colombo - capital of Sri Lanka. A fascinating city with a comfortable blend of the East and West, and a cozy mix of the past and the present. On arrival enjoy an exciting city tour of Colombo, observing the Fort, the former British administrative center and military garrison, Sea Street - the Goldsmiths quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where is also a Hindu Temple with elaborate stone carvings and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749.
