Sutent Capsules (also known by the generic name Sunitinib) is a medication that is used to slow the growth and spread of cancer cells in the body. Sunitinib is principally used to treat kidney and intestinal cancers. Sutent is a receptor protein-tyrosine kinase inhibitor and also an angiogenesis inhibitor, which inhibits the actions of vascular endothelial growth factor (also abbreviated VEGF). Cancer cells have abnormal rates of growth and multiply at rates that are different than normal cells. Sutent interferes with the ability of cancer cells to multiply and grow, thereby reducing the total number of cells and helping to stop their spread throughout the body
