- BT & CT is usually controlled within 6 hours. Swelling disappears completely at the earliest. Pre-gangrene is reduced drastically in 24-48 hours.

Co-effects:-

In our study:-
* Two cases were of krait bite.59 of 72 cases were of viper bites showing signs of local or vasculotoxicity. 14 of 72 cases were of cobra bite showing signs of neurotoxicity. All cases on PINAK recovered well and rapidly.

* Ex vivo efficacy study of Pinak against Cobra venom on isolated rat phrenic nerve diaphragm
* Comparison between % haemolysis of pinak and snake venom antiserum.
* In vivo efficacy, study of Pinak in mouse model against Cobra venom Pinak (Oral tablet) was foud to be effective against cobra venom when given 1 hour before and after envenomation; as a potent antivenin at the dose 300mg/kg (20mg/kg APL) (Human therapeutic dose 1.4 mg/kg).
* In vivo efficacy study of Pinak in mouse model against Viper venom Pinak (Oral tablet) was found to be effective against viper venom when given 1 hour before and after envenomation; as apotent antivenin at the dose 300mg/kg.
* In vitro efficacy of Pinak against Viper venom haemorrhage-like, activtity in mice liver in this assay the observed haemorrhage may be combination of three major factors like rupture of capillary membranes carrying blood, fibrinolytic activity to melt clots and inhibition of one or more blood clotting factors. Haemoglobin released from liver was a time dependent phenomenon followed the Second-order Kinetics as evidenced by linear dependency of varying venom concentration.
* Inhibition of haemorrhagic potential of venom toxins by pinak herbal complex preparation may be considered as a preliminary drug of its anti-venom character.
* Haemoglobin released (Second-order Kinetics) from the liver of BALB/c mouse was found to be arrested by Pinak herbal preparation against viper venom, indicated that Pinak herbal preparation in potent preparation against haemorrhagic action of viper venom.
* Ex vivo efficacy study of Pinak against Cobra venom on isolated rat phrenic nerve diaphragm
* Pinak at the concentration of 7 mg/ml in isolated phrenic nerve diaphragm preparation showed effective in elevating neuromuscular transmission activity when blocked by the cobra venom.

* Continuous close & frequent observation is needed.
* Keep the stomach empty till patient is out of danger.
* We administered medicine after toxicity is well developed. It saves much antivenin. Non-toxic cases do not need any antivenin. *Swelling gets relieved much faster than injection ASV
