Terbutaline Sulphate Bromhexine Guaiphenesin Menthol Syrup

Terbutaline Sulphate, Bromhexine, Guaiphenesin, and Menthol syrup is a combination medicine used to relieve cough associated with mucus in conditions like bronchitis, asthma, emphysema, and other respiratory disorders. It works through the combined actions of its four active ingredients:  

 

1. Terbutaline Sulphate:

• It is a bronchodilator, which means it helps to relax the muscles in the airways and widen them. This makes breathing easier.  

2. Bromhexine Hydrochloride:

• It is a mucolytic, which thins and loosens the mucus (phlegm) in the lungs, windpipe, and nose. This makes it easier to cough out.  

3. Guaiphenesin:

• It is an expectorant that increases the volume of fluid in the airways, reducing the stickiness of mucus and helping in its removal.  

4. Menthol:

• It provides a cooling sensation and helps to relieve minor throat irritation often associated with coughing.
