Applications:
  • Apply a thin layer of the cream in the desired area
  • This cream should be rubbed into the desired area of application two to three times a day or as directed by a physician
Other Details:
  • Vitiligo is one such skin disorder affecting a large number of people all over the world. It involves occurrence of white patches in the skin, the mucous membranes (tissues that cover the interior of the mouth and nose), and the retina (inner layer of the eyeball) because of the elimination melanocytes in the skin.
  • Monobenzone cream is used extensively in the final depigmentation of Vitiligo. Monobenzone Cream exerts a powerful inhibiting effect on pigment formation in the melanin producing cells of the skin.
  • Albaquin cream is rubbed into the desired areas i.e. the normal skin surrounding the white patches of the skin, two or three times daily until desired degree of depigmentation is obtained.
  • When on this treatment exposing the treated areas to sunlight should be avoided because ultraviolet radiant tends to neutralize the depigmentation action of the drug
  • Depigmentation is usually observed after one to four months of daily application generally after first month
  • After the desired depigmentation is obtained, the cream should be applied only as necessary to maintain the results, treatment may be as infrequent as two applications per week
