Many industrial manufacturing processes produce wastewaters containing heavy metals. Industries include printed circuit board manufacturing, metal finishing, automotive, aerospace, semiconductor manufacturing, electroplated metal parts/washing, textile dyes and steel, to name a few. As a result of improper treatment prior to discharge, many dissolved metals have been found in harmful concentrations in groundwaters which are destined for potable drinking water. In small quantities, certain heavy metals are nutritionally essential for a healthy life, but large amounts of any of them may cause acute or chronic toxicity (poisoning). The metals most often linked to human poisoning have links to learning disabilities; cancers and death are typically caused by copper, nickel, cadmium, chrome, arsenic, lead and mercury. Many of these metals are required by humans in trace amounts, but in larger, persistent dosages, these heavy metals become toxic when they are not metabolized by the body and accumulate in the soft tissues. Heavy metal toxicity can result in damaged or reduced mental and central nervous function, lower energy levels, and damage to blood composition, lungs, kidneys, liver, and other vital organs.

1. Sodium Dodecyl Benzene Sulphonate ACUROSURF LS40 can be used as efficient emulsifying agent for polymerizing pressure sensitive adhesive. Dosage: 1-0.1%.

2. As the main content of high-class detergent and cleaner, Sodium Dodecyl Benzene Sulphonate ACUROSURF LS40 can blench, remove stains and oil and resist static electricity.

3. Sodium Dodecyl Benzene Sulphonate ACUROSURF LS40 can be used as the antistatic additive with cleaning function for textile oil.

4. Sodium Dodecyl Benzene Sulphonate ACUROSURF LS40 can be used as efficient antistatic agent for polyester substrate and film base, especially for polyester base cinefilm and filmstrip. Dosage: 0.5% or so.

5. Sodium Dodecyl Benzene Sulphonate ACUROSURF LS40 can be used as the antistatic agent for polyolefine, polyester and other polymer materials.

6. Sodium Dodecyl Benzene Sulphonate ACUROSURF LS40 can be used as the anti-hygroscopic and anticaking additives for powdered chemical products that are easy to absorb moisture and agglomerate, such as methenamine, carbamide and ammonium nitrate. Adding 0.3∼0.5% of it can increase crystalline particles, resist moisture and remove static electricity so as to prevent from caking. Sodium Dodecyl Benzene Sulphonate ACUROSURF LS40 is a kind of efficient additive which can improve the quality of organic and inorganic chemical products that are easy to absorb moisture and agglomerate.

Calcium hypochlorite is used for the disinfection of drinking water or swimming pool water. Generally it is sold as 68% calcium hypochlorite combined with calcium chloride and other salts. It is used as a sanitizer in outdoor swimming pools in combination with a cyanuric acid stabilizer, which reduces the loss of chlorine due to ultraviolet radiation. The calcium content hardens the water and tends to clog up some filters; hence, some products containing calcium hypochlorite also contain anti-scaling agents.

Calcium hypochlorite is an ingredient in bleaching powder, used for bleaching cotton and linen. It is used in bathroom cleaners, household disinfectant sprays, moss and algae removers, and weedkillers.

In addition, calcium hypochlorite may be used to manufacture chloroform.
