The rooftop rainwater harvesting filter installation is designed to collect and treat rainwater from building rooftops before storing it in a sump. Rainwater flowing from the roof is conveyed through gutters and downpipes to a filtration unit installed near the sump or along the downpipe.

The filter system removes contaminants such as leaves, dust, bird droppings, and other suspended particles using a multi-layer filtration mechanism. Typical filter media include stainless steel mesh for coarse filtration, followed by layers of  cartridge filters for finer purification.    

The stored water can be used for non-potable applications such as toilet flushing, gardening, cleaning, and, with additional treatment, for domestic purposes. The system is easy to maintain, improves water quality, reduces dependence on municipal water supply, and promotes sustainable water management.
