Ultrasonic Textile equipment

Ultrasonic energy has found extensive use in cutting of textiles, woven sacks/plastic etc and their downstream processing. Many of these uses are based on the ability to use ultrasonic energy to induce heat and pressure by vibratory action.

The use of ultrasonic Cut n Seal technology makes manufacturing of non-wovens and wovens, economical and process-safe and our customers from the medical, packaging, fabrics and engineering industry value it tremendously.

With our ultrasonic cutting and sealing technology, we are able to separate precisely and expeditiously, and weld edges in a refined and reliable way. The principal advantage of the ultrasonic seal and cut method is that the edge of the textile material, while being cut simultaneously, is sealed by the dissipation of ultrasonic energy, thereby preventing the presence of a frayed edge or the unraveling of threads, no discoloration of fabric and very strong, uniform, smooth, clean and long lasting edges without over thickness with low energy consumption.

RoopTelsonic manufacture a superior range of ultrasonic cutting and sealing systems that offer effective sealing with optimal functionality. These products are recognized for their efficient operation and reliability.

Stitching machine is used for joining two fabrics for various applications, main being waterproofing of weldings/sealing.

The applications can be for filters, continuous Bag Filters, Laminated Paper, BOPP Films, Masks, Disposable gowns, defence application, Nonwoven bag making

The stiching machine can be also used as Hemming Purpose specially designed for PP/HDPE Woven Sacks.

Advantages of Ultrasonic Sealing Technology

1. Cost saving since no usage of threads or needles.

2. Reduction in man power

3. Reducing accidental probability since no sharp edges or needles present

4. No fraying threads & edges

5. High quality finishing as no stitching holes also preventing the penetration of chemicals, liquids or particulates thus providing a benefit over conventional stitching methods.

Unique features of RTUL Ux. Sealing Machine

1. Automatic tuning of Horn & Horn life indication

2. Built in electronic amplitude setting- Allowing the user to choose amplitudes based on application

3. Standard rollers or Custom design rollers can be made according to customer’s demand. The rollers are interchangeable.

Working Principle

1. Converting the low frequency line voltage of 50 Hz (oscillations per second) by the ultrasonic generator into high frequency of electrical energy of 36 kHz. This ultrasound frequency is barely audible to the human ear.

2. The downstream equipment converter converts the electrical energy into mechanical vibrations.

3. The mechanical vibrations are transmitted to the acoustic transformer (booster). It ensures that the amplitude of the converter is optimally adjusted to the sonotrode.

4. The sonotrode now oscillates at 36 kHz against the anvil wheel. The molecular and boundary surface friction generates heat. The material starts to molecular soften in the uniting zone and forms a sound barrier due to the plasticized and strongly damping plastic layer, which leads to a very intensive melting of the plastic. The reaction accelerates automatically, as an increasing proportion of the vibration energy and is converted into heat. The simultaneous pressure exerted by the anvil wheel lowering unit reinforces the welded connection in the job.

Ultrasonic slitting system is used for slitting (cutting) of 100% Synthetic (thermoplastic) fabric & their blends consisting of minimum 70% synthetic fibres.

This application find use in fabrics for technical / industrial applications mainly like filter fabrics, upholstery/ curtain materials, sarees & dress materials. Here ultrasonic system can be used for fabric cutting & sealing application for slitting of woven / knitted / nonwoven fabrics even upto 300-800 GSM fabrics. The ultrasonic power required will depend on GSM & Denseness of the fabric, it’s blend composition, GSM & speed required. It can range from 500 watts model upto 4.5 KW model.
