SCOPE OF WORK FOR ELECTRICAL SAFETY AUDIT OF THE PLANT                    

The scope of Electrical safety audit will be based on the CEA 2010 Rules, Electricity act, Indian electricity rules, Indian standards, National building code. Recommendations and guide lines from Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the specific requirements of the audit system mentioned below:- 

· Physical inspection of the plant with reference to applicable Indian standards, Indian Electricity Act / Rules and other relevant codes of practice and identifying electrical hazards ( shocks, fires etc )

· Reviewing the rule of electrical safety in the total safety system.

· Review of protection devices / systems of the electrical installation.

· Review of adequacy of cables, motors etc, and based on actual low current measurement and cable current  carrying capacity.

· Examination of adequacy of plant lightning protection system as per national standards to suggest  recommendations as per applicable standards.

· Review of electrical accidents to identify root cause of the accidents.

· Review the EPM (Electrical Preventive Maintenance) Program in the plant and to examine the documentation, check list, work permit, test records etc. And to suggest recommendations as per applicable standards.

· Review of lock-out and tag-out system.

· To identify training needs of the plant employees from the point of view of electrical safety.

· To evaluate the earthing system (installation and maintenance) in the plant based on IS 3043 and to suggest recommendations.

· Review of the followings test records, evaluating the test results and to suggest recommendations as per applicable standards.

· Transformer oil test.

· Insulation resistance test.

· Earth resistance test.

· To evaluate the potential electrical fire hazards in the office electrical installation and to suggest fire protection measures.

· To identify the ESD (Electro Static Hazards). 

In addition to the above, we will also be auditing the following parameters:-
