An obstetrician is a physician who has successfully completed specialized education and training in the management of pregnancy, labour and peuperium (the time-period directly following childbirth). A gynaecologist is a physician who has successfully completed specialized education and training in the field of female health and reproductive system, including the diagnosis and treatment of disorders and diseases. Typically, the education and training for both fields occurs concurrently. Thus, a gynaecologist/ obstetrician is a physician specialist who provides medical and surgical care to women and has particular expertise in pregnancy, childbirth and disorders of the reproductive system. This includes preventive care, prenatal care, detection of sexually transmitted diseases, PAP testing, and family planning. The Department of Gynaecology and Obstetrics is a very vibrant place, radiating positive energy. We cater to ‘High Risk Obstetrics and Gynaecology’ with the availability of one of the most well equipped Intensive Care Units (ICU) in the city along with a highly modernized Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) attached to it. The department also provides the latest Electronic Foetal Monitoring facility. There are a set of well equipped Operating Theatres attached to the Maternity Wing. With the support of all imported advanced equipments of latest technology there is adjacent Surgical ICU to monitor all the post operative patients with an experienced team of Intensive Care Staff.

The Department of General Surgery provides evaluation and treatment of the full range of complex general surgery problems, often working in conjunction with colleagues in other specialities. Collaboration with referring physicians is emphasized as essential to optimal patient management.

Saviour has state of the art Laparoscopy and Endoscopy Department. Separate Laminar Air Flow operation theatre is dedicated to Laparoscopy and Endoscopy work for diagnosing and treating many ailments.
