Histopathology section of the laboratory provides services for routine and specialized processing of all surgical and cytological (both gynaecological and non-gynaecological) specimens.The Cryostat which prepares a “frozen section”, is available for intra-operative rapid diagnosis. This facility is also used for identification of enzymes and fat in tissues, after appropriate histochemical staining.Fluorescence microscopy is offered for specialized studies on kidney and skin biopsies, as well as identification of Her-2/neu and EGFR by FISH technique.

The Department of Laboratory Medicine performs a wide range of diagnostic tests for both inpatients and outpatients. The laboratory includes sections that perform assays not readily available elsewhere including: tissue typing, laser-activated flow cytometry, molecular genetics diagnosis, complete toxicology services, immunohistochemical techniques, etc.

The Department of Transfusion Medicine in SevenHills Hospital is located at level 2, Block 16 and in close proximity to the emergency services, operation theatres and Intensive Care Unit and wards.
Transfusion Medicine is a multidisciplinary area concerned with the optimum use of blood / blood products for the treatment of human diseases.

The Department of Imaging at SevenHills Hospital is a progressive and modern department specializing in whole spectrum of diagnostic and interventional radiology. It is conveniently located at level 2, block 7 next to the outpatient departments. The department strives to provide our patients the most up-to-date technological advances and innovative treatment options in diagnostic imaging. Working with state-of-the-art equipments and assisted by skilled technologists and nurses, the department supports every medical department with their services.

The Hematology section of the laboratory is very well equipped with state-of-the-the-art automated instruments. Even routine blood counts are performed on highly sophisticated automated cell counters which provide numerous parameters on every singlesample. An exhaustive test menu for the detection of bleeding disorders as well as all kinds of hypercoagulability disorders (e.g.thrombophilia) is offered.

Microbiology section of the laboratory provides state-of-art services for diagnosis of infectious diseases - bacterial, mycobacteria, and fungal, parasitic and viral infections. In addition to conventional techniques, the lab is well equipped with automated systems that perform blood culture and mycobacterium culture. Bacterial identification and antimicrobial susceptibility are also performed by automated system reducing the turn around time of reporting.
