Mr. G.J Rathinasamy is the Third son of the founder of the larger S.G.J Group of companies - Mr. Jayaraj Nadar. He studied in Presidency College Chennai, after which he went to Rose Hulmen University, Indiana USA to complete his Bachelor's in Science (Diesel engines). After this he underwent a training at Perkins engine company ltd., Peterborough, England. On returning back to India he was in charge of running the main workshop of Kodaikanal Motor Union at Kodairoad.
In 1971 Mr. G.J Rathinasamy moved to Tirunelveli to assume charge of the businesses in Tirunelveli, which was carved out of the larger joint family businesses and established S.G. Jayaraj Nadar & Son and J.R. Enterprises.
While the business of HM and Indian Oil Dealership prospered under his leadership, he was in search of fresh business opportunities resulting in addition of TAFE dealership.
