The Megger MIT515 is a 5 kV digital/analog insulation resistance tester designed for high-voltage insulation testing in industrial and utility applications. It is particularly suited for testing equipment such as motors, generators, transformers, cables, and switchgear.

• Test Voltage Range: Offers preset voltages of 250 V, 500 V, 1000 V, 2500 V, and 5000 V. Additionally, it allows user-defined voltages from 100 V to 1 kV in 10 V steps and from 1 kV to 5 kV in 25 V steps.

• Resistance Measurement: Capable of measuring insulation resistance up to 10 TΩ at 5 kV.

• Diagnostic Tests: Supports Insulation Resistance (IR), Dielectric Absorption Ratio (DAR), and Polarization Index (PI) tests.

• PI Predictor Function: Includes a PI predictor (PIp) function that enables faster estimation of the Polarization Index, enhancing testing efficiency.

• Display: Features a large, backlit LCD that displays multiple parameters simultaneously, including resistance, voltage, leakage current, capacitance, battery status, and time constant.

• Power Supply: Equipped with a rapid-charge lithium-ion battery that provides up to 6 hours of continuous testing at 5 kV with a 100 MΩ load. The battery can be fully charged in approximately 2.5 hours. The unit can also operate directly from an AC power source if the battery is depleted.

• Safety and Durability: Designed with a dual-layer case—an outer layer for impact protection and an inner fire-retardant layer. The tester is rated IP65 when the lid is closed, offering protection against dust and water ingress. It meets safety standards IEC 61010-1, CAT IV 600 V up to 3000 m altitude.
