Due to the implementation of modernization program, the factory cane crushing capacity has increased from the 2500 TCD to 6000 TCD. The sugar loss in bagasse in terms of Bagasse POL has been brought down to as low as 1.9% which helped to increase sugar recovery. Further we have commissioned a bagasse dryer, which has helped to reduce bagasse moisture to 35%. This lead us to bagasse saving and also helped for increasing boiler efficiency substantially. The factory has achieved highest cane crushing with very minimun stoppages of the plant due to the presence of our able officers with good expertise in their fields combined with skilled work force.

21MW capacity co-generation project has been established and commissioned. DCS system has been implemented and both the boilers, turbine and cooling towers are operated in auto mode. During season we are exporting a surplus power of 12.5MW and during off-season 13.5MW to the state grid through Maharashtra State Electricity distribution company. In this project, as a part of corporate social responsibility, we have installed ESP system (Electro static precipitator) to the boilers to minimize air pollution. This new equipment has helped us to avoid atmospheric pollution of the surrounding area. This project has brought grandeur to SGSL.
