Teeth can sometimes lose bone and gum support as a result of gum disease. This can lead to progressive loosening of the tooth and eventual loss of the tooth if the gum disease is not treated.

Gum reshaping, also known as "crown-lengthening" and more commonly referred to as a gum lift, has historically been used to treat gum disease. It is only within recent years that dentists have used this Technique for aesthetic purposes. This treatment can lengthen the appearance of your teeth by reshaping your gums. The gum lift is a cosmetic dental Technique that raises and sculpts the gum line. This Technique involves reshaping the tissue and/or underlying bones to create the appearance of longer or symmetrical teeth, thereby making the smile more aesthetically pleasing. This Technique is typically done to reduce excessively gummy smiles or to balance out an asymmetrical gum line.

There are many people who dream to have a better set of teeth; desire to repair the serious deterioration and breakdown of their bite; wish to rid the annoying gaps between their teeth; yearn to stop their clenching and grinding of their teeth that is wearing it down. The solution for this is a combination of cosmetic and dentist procedures known as full mouth rehabilitation or reconstruction. It is a procedure to rectify the relationship between bone, gums, teeth and muscles. It is performed either on some or all of the patient's teeth, depending on the severity of the complications. 

Full Mouth Restoration is also known as neuromuscular dentistry which endeavors to place the jaw into its best possible position. This relieves the symptoms associated with TMJ (temporomandibular joint or jaw joint). The difference between traditional dentistry and neuromuscular dentistry is that the former deals primarily with the teeth, gums and bones, while the latter works towards solving the root of the misalignment complications by understanding the muscles, soft tissues, and nerves.

Lasers have been used in dentistry since 1994 to treat a number of dental problems. 

Dentists are using lasers to treat:

• Tooth decay. Lasers are used to remove decay within a tooth and prepare the surrounding enamel for receipt of the filling. Lasers are also used to "cure" or harden a filling.
• Gum disease. Lasers are used to reshape gums and remove bacteria during root canal procedures.
• Biopsy or lesion removal. Lasers can be used to remove a small piece of tissue (called a biopsy) so that it can be examined for cancer. Lasers are also used to remove lesions in the mouth and relieve the pain of canker sores.
• Teeth whitening. Lasers are used to speed up in-office teeth whitening procedures. A peroxide bleaching solution, applied to the tooth surface, is ''activated" by laser energy,which speeds up of the whitening process.
