CHEM-O-THIC T29 ASE is an anionic cross-linked acrylic copolymer emulsion, which on addition of a base swells greatly and becomes highly viscous. Once neutralized, it cannot be reverted to its original emulsion form by reducing the pH, as this would only precipitate the polymer.

APPLICATIONS: CHEM-O-THIC T29 ASE can be used as thickener in water based and also as thickening emulsion for Flocking. It can replace kerosene partially in pigment paste formulations. The following precautions should be followed while preparing the solution of this product : • It should be diluted with water prior to addition of alkali. • Heating this product with excess base i.e., pH above 10 is undesirable as properties may change. • When a base is added to it, mixing should be minimum to avoid foaming. • To thicken this product any of the commercial bases may be used e.g., Sodium hydroxide, Ammonium hydroxide, Sodium bicarbonate, Ethanolamine, Morpholine, etc.

CHEM-O-THIC T30 FP is a rheological additive based on hydrophobically modified alkali swellable emulsions. Due to the emulsion form, it can be easily incorporated in all system which has to be thickened. It can be used in partial or full replacement of HEC in all water born system. It gives good thickening efficiency at a moderate shear and has excellent balance between the sag resistance and levelling properties.
