Habia flexible power cables are ideal for hybrid electric drives, and our Hi-Flex cable range supports both military and commercial applications. All of our solutions come with insulated power cores for flexible use and are built using high-temperature insulation materials to provide an increased current rating.

All of the cables in our Hi-Flex product range are built using high-temperature insulation materials, resulting in an increased current rating compared to standard insulation materials. This also improves the space envelope of our Hi-Flex cables, since a smaller, lighter core can often be used for the same power rating as a larger, standard cable.

Our Hi-Flex cables are also mechanically robust and ensure a long flex-life by reducing strain on cable terminations and the Mean Time Before Failure (MTBF) of each cable.

The Hi-Flex product range was initially designed for use in military Hybrid Electric Drive (HED) vehicles to meet an increasing demand for higher power ratings without the usual increase in copper size and weight. As a military product, our flexible power cables combine a number of key characteristics for this market, including:

• Oil and fuel resistance
• Nuclear Biological Chemical (NBC) contamination resistant
• Abrasion resistance

With the growing demand for hybrid and fully electric vehicles, we’ve developed a cost efficient, high performance cable variant: the Hi-Flex ZH. Aimed at the commercial sector, cables offer the same power levels with the added benefits of a fully low smoke, zero-halogen and flame-retardant solution.

Habia fire resistant cables and wires are intended for use in extreme environments where high temperature and mechanical resistance are critical.

The Habiaflame product range consists of fire resistant and flame retardant cables and wires that can operate in temperatures up to 1565°C. Originally designed to withstand the rigours of steel production, our fire resistant cables are also often used within safety critical systems as they can continue to operate throughout a fire.

The material combination used within the Habiaflame concept doesn’t rely on extruded plastics. Instead, a robust combination of tapes and braids ensures insulation integrity even under harshest conditions. This rugged approach means that the maintenance schedule can be extended significantly when compared to a conventional cable.

Due to the extremely high mechanical performance and temperature resistance of these cables they are ideal for use in emergency systems and for applications in heavy industry.

Our fire resistant cables do not normally require any other form of protective enclosure and can remain completely exposed, making installation and visual inspections quicker and easier.

In addition, a completely halogen-free solution to our Habiaflame product range: the RHV concept cable is available. This solution is ideal for situations where people or sensitive equipment may be present.

Our BS3G210 and VG 95218 product ranges use high specification materials to ensure thin wall insulation and jacketing, and is used extensively in military and industrial applications where fuel resistance and a wide temperature range are required. The VG 95218 range of single and multicore cables holds VDE approval, and includes a range of cables suitable for the high temperatures, vibration, oils and fuels associated with fighting vehicles.

Designed to meet the British Defence Standards: 61-12 Part 9, Part 18 and Part 25 our cables provide an impressive balance of rugged performance and Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) properties for submarines and surface ships.

Cables to the VG Standard 95218-29 have an intended use as submarine outboard cables. These are pressure resistant and partially water-blocked for use up to 61 bars, as defined by the shipyards.
