Properties: Svarn introduces multistrand flexible house wires with Fire Retardant properties. Specially formulated insulations with a high oxygen and temperature Index.

 

Conductor: Thin strand of Electrolytric Copper are multidrawn simultaneously for uniformity of resistance, dimensions and flexibility & the conductors drawn from bright electrolytic grade copper are annealed and bunched together.

 

Insulation: The bunched conductors are insulated with FR PVC compound with a high insulation resistance value. The insulation process is carried out on modern high speed extrusion lines which ensures high accuracy and consistency in performance. Flame retardant properties enables the cable to withstand overload. The insulation is resistant to boiling water, steam and vapours.

 

Marking: The cables are printed with generic marking Svarn – FR- PVC wires.

SVARN Make FS Cables are useful to maintain their integrity during the defined period of fire. The construction of these cables are different from ordinary cables. The conductor is manufactured with a specially designed heat barrier and fire resistant insulation which resists the fire to reach conductor surface.

 

Fire Survival Cables. BS 6387: 1994 IEC 60331-21. The Construction of Fire Survival cables are different from the ordinary Fire Alarm cables. The Copper Conductor is wrapped with a specially designed heat barrier Glass Mica Tape and fire resistant insulation layer is covered over glass mica tape, which resists the fire to reach conductor surface.

 

The cable continues to remain into operation at high temperatures like 750°C and 950°C as per various conditions of operation and applications.

 

Circuit Integrity Test: as per BS 6387 : 1994 The Test is carried out on the cable operation on load and burning at temperature of 750°C for 2 hours or 950°C For 3 hours. The cable is put on clamps aboves the fir burner of high flames. The power supply is connected to one end of the cable at rated voltage and the load is connected to other end.Fir applied for 3 hours and during this period, and the circuit integrity must be uninterrupted. After the 3 hours, the fir and power is switched off. The cable should report as usual when energized again after a gap of 12 hours.

 

Standard: ( IS 1554 Part-1 OR BS 5308 Part II)

 

Laying of Pair / Triad / Quad: Pair/ Triad/Quad are laid up with suitable lay. Polyester Film/ Melinex Tape is provided to bind up laid up pair / Triad / Quad.

 

Armouring: ( IS 3975) Armouring is applied over inner sheath, it may consist of Galvanized Round Steel wire or Galvanized Flat Steel strips.

Color of Cores : Cores are identified with a color scheme as per IS:1554(Pt-I):1988 as under :

3 Cores - Red, Yellow & Blue.
3 ½ & 4 Core - Red, Yellow, Blue & Black. (Reduced Neutral Core in case of 3 ½ Core)

 

In case of cable exceeding five cores, two adjacent (counting and direction cores ) in each layer shall be colored Blue, Yellow and remaining cores grey/Cores can be identified by numbers by numbers printed on that of same color.

 

Laying of Cores : Cores are laid up with a suitable lay. The Final layer direction shall be kept right hand lay.

 

Inner Sheath : The Inner Sheath is applied over laid up of cores by extrusion/wrapping of thermoplastic material.

 

Armouring : It is applied over inner Sheath. It may consist of galvanized Round Steel wires or galvanized Flat Steel Strips conforming to IS:3975. Round Wire armouring is provided. Above this, armouring is either round wire/steel strip.

 

Outer Sheath : A final covering of PVC Compound, conforming to IS:5831:84, is applied over Armouring in case of Armoured Cable or over Inner Sheath in case of Unarmoured Cable, called as "Outer Sheath".


Current Rating : Current Carrying Capacity of these cables are as per IS:3961{Pt-II) : 1967.
