Most factories are equipped with biomass fired boilers using coal, rice husk, bagasse, etc. Huge quantity of burnt biomass and partially unburnt Fly Ash is generated in boilers which escapes in the flue gases into the air. The quantity of the flue gas emission has to comply with the norms of the Pollution Control Boards. Recently, several cases have come to light wherein factories in India had to shut down due to the problems caused by excessive fly ash escaping from boilers and due to stringent Government enforcement. The impact of this pollution causes significant damage to the environment and is quite detrimental to the health of human beings.

In view of availability of in-house design & engineering expertise and fabrication facilities, we undertake turnkey projects from concept to commissioning to achieve the desired objectives.

We have designed and supplied efficient Fly Ash Collectors which include a Fly Ash Arrestor, Venturi Scrubber and Cyclonic Type Wet Dust Collector which effectively arrests 97percent to 99percent of particles and brings down the final exhaust emission level not exceeding 100 mg/Nm3 as our performance parameter which is significantly below the norms stipulated by the Pollution Control Boards.

The venturi throat is set to operate at desired pressure drop for highest collection efficiency. Scrubbed gases then make a 90 degree turn and enter a cyclonic scrubber where separation of the gases and free liquid droplets takes place. The slurry is discharged through the bottom and dewatered scrubbed gases are exhausted vertically via the top outlet.

Our Fly Ash Collector, is installed before or after the ID fan of the boiler for exposing cent per cent of flue gas. The unit can be conveniently installed in the existing system with minor changes in ID fan ducting to achieve and maintain an absolutely clean and pollution-free environment in and around the factory.

Sugar dust is one of the major pollutants in sugar industry and causes substantial loss in revenue as the final product is dispersed in the air. We offer a sugar dust collector which is designed to suit the existing drier house & prevents air pollution to keep the environment clean. The dust collection system prevents the presence of fine particles in the air and maintains the factory area free from dust. This also ensures safety by keeping the zone free from damage to machinery like motors, gears and bearings and prevents fire hazards.

the on-line dust collection system works continuously using efficient suction hoods located near the dust zone. The dust collected by the dust collector is transferred to a separate unit by a central network of ducting. The dust is then dissoled in water before it is again transferred to the sugar melter.

the system consists of a cyclonic wet scrubber with water spraying arrangement where the dust enters a venturi. The dust dissolves in water which is sprayed along the wall of the venturi. The sugar solution enters a scrubber in a cyclonic path. Clean air rises to the top of the scrubber via a centrifugal fan. The sugar solution enters a tank below the scrubber and is recirculated to the venturi by a pump.

the sugar solution is transferred to melter after attaining 25 brix to 30 brix. This is done once in a shift.

Our Export Quality Hydrocyclones are made using 6 mm thick stainless steel to successfully remove cent per cent grit and provides Milk Of Lime (MOL) in complete colloidal form. The concentrated grit slurry can be diverted to a spray pond for pH control, which is an added advantage of the system.

The unit is guaranteed for trouble-free and smooth performance for a minimum of 3 seasons. There are no moving parts and all its internals are made of superior quality, high abrasion, nickel chrome steel which are precision machined for efficient working ensuring almost zero maintenance. Our continuous development has resulted in an improved design which incorporates nickel chrome body, flexible apex nozzle, body buffed to mirror polish and improved metallurgical aspects. The presence of bagacillo in mixed juice darkens the juice color and consumes more steam and chemicals during processing and also leads to poor quality sugar. Use of Hydrocyclones to remove bagacillo has proved to remove 100percent grit and 50percent to 70percent fine bagacillo which generally escapes from the DSM / Rotary Screen. This system successfully separates grit and bagacillo approximately amounting to 5000 kgs for a typical 2500 TCD plant. This bagacillo is added on to the bagasse blanket everyday which otherwise is being removed by the rotary filter after going through complete boiling and clarification process.

This simple unit which is manufactured in stainless steel can be conveniently installed at the Mill House / Boiling House / Weighing scale.

The unit has almost nil maintenance due to the absence of moving parts.

Mixed juice to the first stage cyclones enters through an inlet header to the battery of cyclones.

The muddy juice containing grit and cush-cush is taken out from the underflow of cyclones in stages. It is then finally sent back to the mill for further extraction.

Scrubbers are widely used in process and allied industries to reduce concentration of exit gases or remove particulate matter from gas streams using water or slurry as the scrubbing medium. Sweetech Environs have installed ammonia recovery systems in fertilizer plants to recover ammonia from fume scrubber exhaust, dust scrubber, dryer scrubber and fumes & dryer tail gas scrubber.

Salient Features Of Our Scrubbers

  1. The scrubber operates on the principle of creating a large surface area of contact between gas and liquid streams, thereby absorbing from the gas stream by various mechanisms like impaction, interception, diffusion, condensation and agglomeration.
  2. Only high-precision spray nozzles are used for maximizing the contact between gas and liquid.
  3. Mist eliminators are provided to prevent carry over losses of scrubbing liquor.
  4. Can be operated with variable flow conditions.
