The SI-BSM-000 series are designed to measure stress changes in the elastic  rock & are used in following application –

The stress meter consist a high strength steel proving ring wedged tightly across one diameter of a borehole drilled into the rock. The distortion of the proving ring, caused by changing rock stresses, is measured by means of a vibrating wire.Changes in the rock stress cause changes in the resonant frequency of vibration of the tensioned wire and the two are related by means of calibration data with each stress meter.It is also available for hard rock applications also.The SI-BSM-000 series stress meter are available in three models and provide high sensitivity, very high range and long term stability for extended monitoring period.The design is an improvement of the stress meter developed for the US Bureau of Mines. By re-orienting the vibrating wire to be at 900 with respect to the loading platens, the gage has been given a high initial sensitivity coupled with a virtually unlimited range of increasing stresses. Installation procedures have been modified to permit the gage to be wedged into place at much higher pre-load than hitherto possible. A thermistor can also be attached with the stress meter to monitoring the simultaneous measurement of temperatures.

 INSTALLATION TOOL

The stress meter is installed in boreholes upto the depth of 30 meter with help of installation tool/setting tool.  It is used to drive a wedge so that a platen is expanded against the side of borehole. When it is used in soft rock, a sot rock shoe and soft rock platen are used to spread the area of contact. The diamond core drilling is preferable. The boreholes should have their walls smoothed by incorporating a reaming shell in the bit. It can be read using our data logger.

SysTel INDIA The Model SI-MLPP-003 Multi-Level Pore Pressure Piezometer is designed to measure pore pressure at different levels in a borehole, embankments, concrete structures, pipe lines, wells etc.

SysTel INDIA model SI-SMG-001/002 series strain gauges have a unique integral magnet design which incorporates a miniature magnet coil assembly positioned inside a stainless steel tube of diameter 15mm. The same tube has a high tensile strength, heat-treated and tempered steel wire stretched between two end blocks. The wire is sealed in the tube by means of a set of double O-rings. This feature, when compared to conventional externally mounted magnet design has the following advantages:
  •     Robust and sturdy construction.
  •     High sensitivity and reliability.
  •     Long term stability.
  •     Easy installation and minimum protection needed after installation.
Externally mounted magnet assembly on the other hand is prone to corrosion as it is made in two halves, which are externally clamped on to the tube. This does not ensure proper sealing at the joint. Thus water can seep and with time cause corrosion on the magnet, resulting in failure. Embedment type strain gauges are provided with built in stainless steel flanges while the groutable and arc weldable type have the same design. By the use of appropriate type of mounting blocks, the same strain gauge can be arc welded on to the steel structures such as tunnel linings and supports or grouted or epoxy bonded on the surface of concrete structures. Provision of gas discharge tube protects the sensor against surge and lightning.

SysTel INDIA designed building settlement points are used extensively for measurement of vertical settlement of any concrete/rock structures and buildings affected by nearby excavation and construction activities. This consists of a spherical reference locator with threaded bolt. The reference locater is fixed on a vertical wall or a structure to monitor settlement of any building. INTRODUCTION

Bireflex/Reflective targets are designed to suit wide surveying applications. The main field of application has been convergence measuring in tunnel construction. DESCRIPTION

The bireflex target consists of reflector mounted on a robust frame. The target has reflectors on both  the sides  and is mounted on a universal joint such that it can be oriented in any direction as required.The target has a small centre hole  to allow precise targeting.
Unlike our standard reflecting target marks, the reflective film of this device can be optimally adjusted to the target by means of the tiltable foil carrier that can be rotated freely around two axes.
