How to Apply

Surface Preparation

The surface should be sound, clean, and free from dirt, oil or grease before Tile Pro Gold Adhesive (Grey) is applied.

• The substrate should be in Saturated Surface Dry (SSD) condition before application of adhesive.
• Substrates should be in plumb before the application of adhesive.

Mixing

Mix 20 kg of Tile Pro Gold Adhesive (Grey) with 5 to 6 litres of water.

• Mix to a uniform lump-free consistency using a forced action mixer.
• Please keep it for approximately 5 minutes to fatten it.
• Hand mixing is recommended for small quantities only.
• Mix as much amount as can be consumed in 45 min.

Application:

• Apply Tile Pro Gold Adhesive (Grey) paste on a substrate with the plain side of notch trowel. Press paste firmly to work into the substrate.
• Comb with notch trowel with notched side, notch trowel to be selected as per required bed thickness.
• Spread as much adhesive paste as can be tiled within 15 minutes.
• Start placing/fixing of tiles & tap using beating block or rubber mallet.
• For large format tiles & stone, provide back butter for 100 % coverage & firm bonding.
• Periodically remove a tile to check the transfer of material on the tile. Also, check the spread of adhesive; if not proper and if it becomes non-sticky, then scrap it & apply paste again.

Grouting

• Grouting should preferably be carried out at least 24 hours after the completion of the tiling.
• For grout joints upto 3mm wide, use Tile Pro High Polymer Tile Grout.
• For grout joints above 3mm wide, use RTM Wide.
• After grouting, clean and polish tiles with a damp sponge or cloth.

Cleaning

Clean the tools & equipment with potable water immediately after use.

Tile Pro Tile on Tile Adhesive is a polymer modified cement base powder tile adhesive. it is grey colored powder & as the name suggest this product is most suitable for wall tiling on a plastered wall & floor tiling on a cementitious substrate by substituting conventional method of cement & sand.

Tile Pro Non-Skid Adhesive gives excellent bond on cementitious surfaces like, concrete, plaster, etc. It forms a waterproof barrier between two surfaces and has excellent ‘grab’ properties. This is an ideal product for Tile-on-Tile applications.

Areas of Application:
For fixing all types of tiles on internal wall/floor, external floor & tile on tile applications.

Method of Application:

• The surface to be tiled should be clean and sound. Old surfaces must be free from wax, grease, polish, etc.
• The surface to be tiled should be sound and thoroughly cleaned. Old surface should be free from wax, grease, polish etc.
• Add 3 - 3.5 parts of TilePro powder to 1 part of water. At site, addition of water shall be adjusted to attain desired consistency. Do not put water into the powder. Mix with a trowel / slow speed drills (50 - 100 rpm) until a lump free homogeneous paste is obtained.
• Always mix the required quantity, which can be consumed with in the prescribed pot life adopting the mixing proportion mentioned above.
• Leave the mixture for 5 min. before using.
• Spread the adhesive to a required thickness and comb with a suitable notched trowel. Strictly apply the adhesive paste which can be tiled with in 10 to 15 mins.
• I ntermittently touch the adhesive paste on substrate by finger. If the adhesive sticks to fingers then continue tiling and if not scrape off the adhesive and apply new coat.
• Start placing the tiles on the surface to be tiled. Tap the tiles properly to ensure complete coverage of the backside of tiles and to eliminate the possibility of any air voids.
• Keep joints between two-tiles using tile spacers.
• Allow tiling to set for 24 hours and start filling joints next day with Tile Pro Epoxy Grout.
• Use mechanical clamps for holding the heavy stones in positions on vertical surface.

Precautions & Limitations:

• Always add powder to water and not water to powder.
• Do not add more water than recommended.
• Do not add sand or cement at site.
• Before doing tile-on-tile application, ensure that the original tiling surface is in sound condition.
• In case of undulations in the existing floor, rectify the same before applying TilePro Non-Skid Adhesive.
• Strictly not recommended for the direct use on gypsum plaster, paint, wood & metal.
