DESCRIPTION    ROCHEM DESCALEX POWDER has been designed for rapid descaling of waterside deposits.  It is a nonvolatile, non-hygroscopic, odourless powder, which is compounded of dry acid, inhibitors, and wetting agents. DESCALEX POWDER has an unlimited shelf life and is completely soluble in water. It contains no chlorides, has low corrosion rates, and will not stress-crack stainless steel.  USAGE  ROCHEM DESCALEX POWDER dissolves water scale and rust deposits in heat exchangers, air conditioning plants, intercoolers and similar equipment.  It is also effective in descaling oil wells and industrial water wells.  ADVANTAGES  1. ROCHEM DESCALEX POWDER reduces maintenance costs and lowers labor requirements due to faster, more efficient, regularly scheduled cleaning. 2. ROCHEM DESCALEX POWDER reduces the need of extensive dismantling while cleaning inaccessible areas such as small tubes, short bends, and irregular surfaces. 3. ROCHEM DESCALEX POWDER reduces the dangers and handling problems of liquid acids with no sacrifice to efficiency.  APPLICATION  ROCHEM DESCALEX POWDER is normally used as a 5% water solution (50 Kilos of DESCALEX POWDER per metric ton of water) which is equivalent to a 10% solution of ROCHEM Descaling Liquid. DESCALEX POWDER should be dissolved in warm water unless agitation is employed with cold water.  The equipment being cleaned is filled with the 5% DESCALEX POWDER solution and agitated with air or steam, but preferably with a pump capable of providing good circulation.  Circulation time required will vary from a few hours to 24 hours.  For maximum results the solution temperature should be held between 60°C (140°F) and 77°C (170°F).  After completing the cleaning, the equipment should be drained and then neutralized by introducing ROCHEM ALKLEEN in 1% water solution (10 Kilos of ALKLEEN per metric ton of water).  Fill the equipment with the ALKLEEN solution and circulate it through the system for at least an hour.  The pH value of the solution should stay above 8.  If necessary, add more ALKLEEN until satisfactory pH is maintained.  Drain the ALKLEEN solution then flush the system twice with fresh water.  By its sequestering action the ALKLEEN solution will prevent redeposition of undissolved solids on the metal surfaces and permit thorough removal by blow-down.

Light oil film on paintwork can be washed away easily.  ROCHEM TEEPOL is a real time saver when used for cleaning dishes, woodwork, floors, leatherwork, desks, toilets, showers, reefer boxes, portholes, windows, paint brushes, automobiles, lorries, rugs etc. Not recommended for washing machines due to high foaming properties.  DOSAGE  Solution should be at a rate of 2 teaspoons to ½ cup per 5 litres of warm water dependent on degree of contamination.  APPLICATION  Simply apply ROCHEM TEEPOL solution by rag or brush, then rinse off, or dip soiled articles into ROCHEM TEEPOL solution and then rinse.  HANDLING  Safe for hands and clothing if used as instructed. Flush with water if material comes into contact with eyes.  Use an emetic if solution is taken internally.

Add 3 drops of ACID REAGENT in test tube. 2. Fill the test tube to 15 ml level with test sample. 3. Add 5 drops of indicator to test sample. 4. Fill the titrator with titrator Reagent to ‘Zero’ mark. 5. Add titrator reagent drop by drop to test sample until Traces – of blue colour appears throughout the solution. 6. Result in obtained in ppm sodium sulphite (Na2SO3) by multiplying the titrator reading 4.2.

DESCRIPTION ROCHEM VAPTREAT LIQUID is a concentrated liquid blend of synthetic polymers and defoaming agents formulated to prevent scale deposits and foaming in high and low pressure evaporators. GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS Appearance : Pale yellow liquid. Flash Point : None pH of 1% Solution : 9.2 Specific Gravity : 1.09 ADVANTAGES VAPTREAT LIQUID prevents scale formation by crystal distortion, dispersion, and absorption of scales forming minerals. It also prevents foaming and carry-over thus maintaining distilled water quality. Crystal Distortion – As soluble minerals are forced out of solution during evaporation they go through an intermediate crystal stage before forming dense deposits. VAPTREAT LIQUID reacts with the crystals causing them to be distorted and irregularly shaped. The distorted crystals do not form dense and uniform deposits which would adhere to evaporator surfaces. Dispersion and Absorption – VAPTREAT LIQUID disperses solid materials formed during evaporation by absorbing them into the polymers. The polymer gives the absorbed particles electrical like charges causing them to repel each other and therefore preventing agglomeration and deposition. APPLICATION VAPTREAT LIQUID should be fed continuously to the evaporator feed inlet line from a dosage tank. VAPTREAT LIQUID can be diluted with fresh water and the feed solution should be dosed using an eductor or positive displacement metering pump. DOSAGE The standard dosage, applicable to most systems, is 15-30 ml of Vaptreat per ton of distillate produced. This is based on the rated production capacity of the evaporator. Example: In a 25 ton/day evaporator, treatment used = 25 x 30 ml = 750 ml of Vaptreat per day. Flow rate calculation: Mix 750 ml of Vaptreat with water to the dosage tank capacity (say 50 ltrs). Flow rate = 50 ltrs/24 x 60 = 35 ml per minute setting. This will last 24 hrs. Our ROCHEM Service Engineer will readily guide you on the correct dosage. If is preferred that the evaporator be clean and free of deposits before VAPTREAT LIQUID is introduced. VAPTREAT LIQUID will clean up moderate amounts of existing deposits. The dosage rate needs to be double of the recommended treatment rate during the clean up period. HANDLING No special precautions required. ROCHEM DPP contains an emulsion breaker which separates the water from the oil.  This separation will also reduce some serious fireside slags.  The sodium ion in saltwater if carried into the combustion chamber will reduce the melting point of vanadium forming a molten slag.   COMBUSTION CATALYST ROCHEM DPP contains combustion catalysts which function by providing the fastest possible reaction time of the air fuel mixture assuring that  complete  combustion  is  achieved  in  the  shortest  time  possible.    This  results  in  the  minimization  of  soot,  fly  ash,  intermediate combustion products and unburned particulate matter.  ROCHEM DPP will prevent LOW TEMPERATURE CORROSION by allowing minimum excess air conditions to be approached as a result of improved combustion reactions and by eliminating the catalytic effect that produces sulphur trioxide.  ROCHEM DPP further protects against low temperature corrosion by preventing acidic deposits of particulate matter.  By  way  of  review,  sulphur  dioxide  and  sulphur  trioxide  are  normal  combustion  products  when  firing  fuels  containing  sulphur.  The concentration of sulphur trioxide in the flue gas in relation to sulphur dioxide is dependant on the excess air employed and the presence of vanadium and iron oxide.  It has been estimated that 75% of the sulphur trioxide is formed from sulphur dioxide in the combustion area.  The reaction occurs as a result of sulphur dioxide combining with nascent oxygen and is aided by the catalytic effect of vanadium and iron oxide.  Sulphur trioxide concentration in the flue gas determines the acid dew point.  Acid dew point is defined as that temperature at which the  water vapour present in the flue gas as a result of combustion can combine with sulphur trioxide to form sulphuric acid.  Low temperature

DESCRIPTION ROCHEMITE  is  an  inorganic  compound  in  powder  form for application in coal or oil fired boilers, exhaust gas boilers, incinerators and process furnaces. ROCHEMITE prevents slag build-up by means of a chemical reaction.  It also removes existing combustion deposits and slag from the refractory coating and metal fireside surfaces of boiler tubes, superheaters, exhaust gas uptakes and exhaust gas boilers.  SPECIFICATIONS Colour      :  Grey or Brown Apparent Density    :  0.9 Flash point    :  None Chlorides     :  None Shelf-life      :  Indefinite  APPLICATION ROCHEMITE is injected into the boiler furnace first or second draft depending on boiler type and construction.  A minimum gas temperature of only 300°C is required for effective cleaning as ROCHEMITE does not burn but forms a dense vapour that reaches into all parts of the boiler reacting with  the  fireside  deposits  and  reducing  these  to  a  soft  powder.    Manual  cleaning  and  soot  blowing  is  reduced  to  a  minimum  or  can  even  be eliminated completely.  Reaction with Rochemite forms a protective film on clean surfaces thus preventing attack by aggressive acids in both high an low temperature zones.  CORROSION PROTECTION Combustion deposits in untreated boilers contain Sulphur compounds resulting in a pH of 1 to 3.  Although this means that the slag is corrosive, nothing is known about the total acid content. However both pH and acid content influence each other. For example, if the pH increases by one point the acid content correspondingly decreases by 90%. ROCHEMITE increases the pH and consequently reduces the acid content in such a way that free sulphuric acid (H 2 SO 4 ) is kept to a minimum; Thus the presence of Ferreous Sulphate (FeSO4) is eliminated.  ROCHEMITE prevents Sulphur corrosion when applied regularly.

When the emulsion is broken up, the entrained water separates to the bottom of the tank for easy removal.  At the same time Rochem Sludge Breaker reduces the surface and interfacial tension of the crude or fuel oil thus stabilising it in storage and preventing reformation of the sludge. 

APPLICATION and DOSAGE  Rochem  Sludge  Breaker  is  applied  directly  to  the  tanks  requiring  treatment.  Maintaining  tank  contents  and  Sludge Breaker at 30°C or above produces even better results. Dosage varies from 1 Litre per 1 ton to 4 Litres per 1 ton depending on the type of sludge, viscosity and amount of water contamination and the condition of the tank.  Start with a dosage of 1 Litre per ton tank capacity on a clean tank to 4 Litres per ton capacity on a tank containing sludge.

DESCRIPTION ROCHEM ALGAE CONTROL (COOLING TOWER) is a liquid blend of organic polymers which prevents algae and fouling in open, re-circulating, fresh water cooling systems. It is desirable to stir or agitate the solvent when the deposits are exceptionally heavy.  When clean, rinse the parts with water and then dry by wiping or with compressed air.  Stubborn deposits can be brushed away with a stiff bristle brush once they have been softened by ROCHEM CARBON REMOVER.  To reduce soaking time use heat as described above.  To prevent sludging of the soak tank and to prolong the effective strength of ROCHEM CARBON REMOVER, all loose grease, dirt and oil should be removed with ROCHEM DEGREASOL, degreasing solvent, steam or water before soaking items in ROCHEM CARBON REMOVER.  

DESCRIPTION Chloride is a major constituent of sea water and is extremely corrosive in acidic environments. Chlorides may also get into surface water from several sources including:  1) rocks containing chlorides; 2) agricultural runoff; 3) wastewater from industries;  4) oil well wastes; 5) effluent wastewater from wastewater treatment plants, and;  6) road salting. Therefore, water that is used in industry or processed for any use has a recommended maximum chloride level.  It requires close monitoring in applications such as boiler systems, close loop cooling water systems, cooling towers etc.  Rochem Chloride test kit for water samples provides the accuracy and simplicity for onsite or on-board analysis. 

DESCRIPTION  ROCHEM DEGREASOL HD ECO is “the strongest there is” water based, non-caustic cleaning and degreasing agent. It is based on the latest and most powerful biodegradable surface-active and emulsifying agents. DESCRIPTION Effective January 1st, 2010, the European Union mandates the consumption of 0.1% sulphur content marine gasoil (MGO) for vessels in ports (directive 2005/33/EU). The vessels calling on California ports must operate on a 0.5% sulphur distillate fuel no less than 24 nautical miles from port according to the California Air Resources Board (CARB). This requires a transition for main engines operating on heavy fuel to the new low sulphur distillate fuel. Unfortunately, the hydro processing process used to remove the sulphur from fuels also removes the lubricity properties of the fuel. The injection equipment of diesel engines is prone to excessive pump wear when using low or ultra-low sulphur fuels, since this kind of fuels have relatively low viscosity and reduced lubricating value. FOT - LOW SULPHUR FUEL is a new, concentrated lubricity additive for use in low sulfur diesel fuel, ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel and 0.1% sulfur MGO. FOT - LOW SULPHUR FUEL stabilizes the fuel and improves the lubricity of the fuel, the fuel pumps and injectors and maintains clean injectors. This happens thanks to its low content of sulphur. It comprises dispersants, surfactants, detergents and lubricity additives. Its highly effective fuel lubricant minimizes metal-to-metal contact, thus extending the life of fuel system components. Thanks to the stability that FOT - LOW SULPHUR FUEL provides, sediment and asphaltenes are maintained in suspension during storage. FOT - LOW SULPHUR FUEL utilizes anti-scuff technology satisfying BS ISO 12156-1, ASTM D6079 and IP 450/2000. DESCRIPTION  Hard water is the type of water that has high mineral content . Hard water minerals primarily consist of calcium (Ca2+), and magnesium (Mg2+) ions, and sometimes other dissolved compounds such as bicarbonates and sulfates.  Rochem Hardness Test has been developed to determine the exact hardness of water through wet titration. DESCRIPTION ROCHEM METAL BRITE is a liquid cleaner containing rust dissolving acids, emulsifiers and passivators formulated to remove rust and dirt stains from metal, wood, tile and painted surfaces.  It is effective as a phosphatizer, metal conditioner or wash primer prior to painting steel surfaces. METAL BRITE is safe on brass, copper, aluminium, stainless steel and chrome.  It will effectively clean, brighten, and protect metal surfaces from rust.  GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS Appearance  : Liquid Colour   : Slight Turbid Liquid pH   : Acidic  Specific Gravity  : 1.15 to 1.20 Oxidizing properties : None Solubility  : Soluble in water  APPLICATION ROCHEM METAL BRITE is normally used full strength for removal of oxides from metal surfaces but can also be diluted with fresh water for removing rust stains from painted surfaces.  For best results, surfaces to be cleaned should be free of oil and grease.  It is excellent as a general purpose cleaner-brightener but is not intended for the removal of heavy rust or scale deposits, nor for use on zinc or galvanized metals. METAL BRITE should always be used in a plastic bucket. The acid should always be added to water, never the reverse. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE  • Brightening of Aluminium Gangways, Brass Fire Extinguishers, Pots and Pans, Stainless Steel Sinks, etc: Remove oil and grease on surfaces to be cleaned: Apply METAL BRITE full strength with brush, rag, spray etc. Wash off with water after about 15 minutes.  Dot not allow METAL BRITE to dry on metal surface: If oxide is not gone after 15 or 20 minutes of soaking time, apply another coat of METAL BRITE to the surface to prevent drying.  Apply as many coats as required to remove oxide. Do not let METAL BRITE dry up on metal surfaces as it may leave a hard white deposit on the surface.  Be sure to wash surface thoroughly with water.  • Pre-treatment of Steel Surfaces prior painting: Remove any oil and grease.  Remove old paint and scale by chipping or wire brushing. Wet down entire surface with METAL BRITE and allow to dry.  If rust exists on a pitted surface, more than one application may be required to remove rust.  Surface should have a grayish white appearance when METAL BRITE is dry.  The steel surface will now have a high resistance to rust and will present a good tooth for bonding of paint.  • Phosphatizing Steel Surfaces: For prevention of rust on steel surfaces that cannot be painted, METAL BRITE is applied full strength to an oil/grease-free steel surface and allowed to soak for 15 to 20 minutes.  Wash surface thoroughly with fresh water and remove all METAL BRITE. The surface will now be rust resistant. • Rust Stains on wood or Painted Surfaces: Heavy rust stains may require full strength METAL BRITE but light stains will disappear with diluted solution of METAL BRITE and water.  Use approximately ½ parts of fresh water with one part of METAL BRITE.  Apply solution with brush, rags, spray etc. and allow to soak for 20 to 30 minutes: Wash off with water.  Repeat application to remove stubborn stains.  PRECAUTIONS ROCHEM METAL BRITE will not damage good dry paint, wood or caulking material; however, it is an acid solution and should not be used on zinc or galvanised metals.  Avoid contact with skin or eyes as it causes skin irritation. The heat exchange equipment to be cleaned is filled with solution comprised of 1 to 3 litres of ROCHEM DESCALING LIQUID per 10 litres of water.  This solution is circulated throughout the system for 8 to 16 hours. 2. The system is then flushed with fresh water which removes particulate matter and soluble salts. 3. Then a 1% water solution of ROCHEM ALKLEEN LIQUID is circulated throughout the system for at least an hour to neutralise the acid and to prevent redepositing undissolved soils on the metal surfaces by its sequestering action. pH of the solution should remain above 8. If it drops below, add more ALKLEEN LIQUID. 4. Drain the ALKLEEN LIQUID solution and flush twice with fresh water.

Faster and more efficient cleaning can be achieved by heating to a temperature of 50 to 60°C (122-140°F). After cleaning, the parts should be thoroughly rinsed with fresh water. It is recommended that this product is not used on zinc, tin, galvanized surfaces or anodized aluminium.  METHOD OF CLEANING  Separators can be cleaned by – 01) Removing the separator disc stack and soaking in a solution of ROCHEM DISCLEANER.  02) Removing the separator discs and dismantling stack, then soaking discs in ROCHEM DISCLEANER. Discs can be sprayed if soaking tank is not available. Circulating the solution and heating will enhance cleaning in both the above cases.  CAUTION  Treat as you would any acid.  Wear protective gloves, goggles and outer clothing when handling.  If product comes into contact with skin or eyes, flush immediately with water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing.  Call a physician, if required.  

DESCRIPTION ROCHEM ELECTROSOLVENTS are cold degreasing safety solvents which are totally free from carbon tetra chloride (CTC).  They combine the best cleaning qualities of the inflammable solvents and CTC, but eliminate the explosive and toxic dangers of these products. It is particularly effective for cleaning of Metal/Ceramic Oil filters and permanently fixed Oil Coolers or Heaters. These units are regularly contaminated by suspended particles in partially carbonized oils. Timely cleaning prevents the formation of hard coke like adherents which are difficult to remove at a later stage.   ROCHEM FILTER CLEANER is equally efficient for in-place cleaning (CIRCULATION METHOD) and for soaking of individual parts (DIP TANK METHOD).  It may be desirable to heat ROCHEM FILTER CLEANER if you encounter heavy carbon deposits or if rapid cleaning is necessary.  Heating to 49°C (120°F) will quadruple the solvency power.  However, it is recommended that the temperature does not exceed 60°C (140°F). Nor should heat be used in an enclosed or unventilated area.   Dip Tank Method: Simply immerse the parts to be cleaned into a suitable container filled with ROCHEM FILTER CLEANER.  Hang the objects in a wire basket or from a wire so they are off the bottom and completely immersed in the solvent. It is desirable to stir or agitate the solvent when the deposits are exceptionally heavy.  When clean, rinse the parts with water and then dry by wiping or with compressed air.  Stubborn deposits can be brushed away with a stiff bristle brush once they have been softened by ROCHEM FILTER CLEANER.  To reduce soaking time use heat as described above.   Circulation method: Remove excess oil remaining in the fuel oil heater to be cleaned by blowing air or steam through the oil side.  Connect the recirculation system which requires a circulation pump, carbon remover reservoir and temporary hoses or pipes. (Connect hose from the reservoir to the suction side of pump, connect hose from the pump discharge to fuel oil heater, and connect hose from opposite end of fuel oil heater back to reservoir).  Circulate ROCHEM FILTER CLEANER from 4 to 24 hours, depending on the type of deposits to be removed as well as temperature of the circulating solvent. When completed, drain the solvent to the reservoir, then flush the unit with flushing oil, steam or water.  If steam is required, admit steam to the steam side of the heater.  After extensive use, ROCHEM FILTER CLEANER is likely to get contaminated with sludge and deposits.  At this time pour off the liquid, clean the deposits from the tank, then return the liquid adding fresh ROCHEM FILTER CLEANER to make up for the used up quantity.  HANDLING INSTRUCTIONS: When using ROCHEM FILTER CLEANER, ensure adequate ventilation and keep away from extreme heat or open flame. Avoid breathing vapors. Do not let eyes, skin, or clothing come in direct contact with the liquid.  If swallowed seek medical attention.  Store in a cool, dry and well ventilated place.

Liquid for passivating austenitic stainless steel • Rochem Passivating Liquid is based on nitric acid and non-ionic surface active substances. • The product provides austenitic stainless steel with a protective oxide layer after it has been pickled. The metal is then passive. • Rochem Passivating Liquid, undiluted, is suitable for use only on austenitic stainless steel.  Application Rochem Passivating Liquid is used mainly for the passivation of pickled installations and tanks. It can be applied in the following ways: 1. by circulation 2. by spraying  Direction for use General A passivating treatment with Rochem Passivating Liquid can only take place if the steel has been pickled previously (i.e. treated with Rochem Pickling Liquid). Circulation method This method is applied mainly in pipe systems. Fill the system with undiluted cold Rochem Passivating Liquid. The time taken for treatment is approx. 2 hours. Drain the system and rinse thoroughly with demineralized water.  N.B. Before disposing the passivating fluid it should be neutralised. For this use slaked lime. Spraying This method is generally used in tanks with a tank washing device which is resistant to our product Rochem Passivating Liquid. The Passivating Liquid fluid is sprayed undiluted using a spraytime of approx. 15 minutes. After this rinse thoroughly with plenty of water using, preferably, demineralised.   Properties Strong acidic product. Contains nitric acid. Fully miscible with water. Undiluted it is suitable for use only on austenitic stainless steel. When diluted it is suitable for cleaning aluminium. Specific gravity (at 20°C) : approx. 1.1 kg/ltr. Flashpoint c.c. : none pH (1% solution) : approx. 1.0 

Liquid for pickling austenitic stainless steel  Rochem Pickling Liquid is based on nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid and non-ionic surface-active substances. The fluid may be used only on austenitic stainless steel as it corrodes other materials. It removes weld slag, annealing scale, grinding dust and iron parts etc.  Applications Rochem Pickling Liquid is used mainly for pickling installations and tanks. It may be used in the following ways: 1.    By circulation 2.    Spraying 3.    In immersion baths  Directions for use  Pretreatment Before commencing clean and degrease the surfaces to be pickled, this will give the basis for uniform pickling. Use Rochem Electrosol Quick Dry to remove felt pen ink marks. Use Rochem Aquatuff for degreasing small metal surfaces. To degrease tanks etc. we recommend USE of 1-5% solution of Rochem Multiclean HD in warm water.  After pickling rinse thoroughly with a water jet.  Circulation method This method is used mainly for pipe systems. Fill the system with cold undiluted Rochem Pickling Liquid. Pickling will take 2 to 6 hours depending on the degree of soiling and on the kind of austenitic steel do not pickle longer than necessary. Drain the system and rinse carefully, preferably with demineralised water. After rinsing, if required passivation should follow immediately. Before disposing the pickling liquid it should be neutralised with slaked lime.  Immersion bath method Fill a plastic or plastic lined bath with undiluted Pickling Liquid. Place the articles to be pickled into the bath and leave them to soak for 1 to 6 hours depending on the degree of soiling and the kind of austenitic steel Remove the articles from the bath and spray them with a powerful water jet. Demineralised water should preferably be used for this purpose. Passivation should follow immediately after spraying.  Passivation A protective oxide layer will form on the austenitic stainless steel only if oxidizing conditions are present. For example during longterm rinsing in oxygen rich water of during storage in the open air. In these circumstances the steel automatically passivates. Because this passive layer takes a long time to develop to the correct thickness we recommend passivating with Rochem Passivating Liquid, particularly if the stainless steel is exposed to corrosive conditions soon after the pickling treatment. Good results are obtained if the object is sprayed/brushed with Rochem Passivating Liquid immediately after it has been rinsed. Rinse with plenty of water after approx. 5 minutes.  Treatment of the effluent To neutralise the acid and to make the fluorides and heavy metals insoluble the effluent water & paste should treated with slaked lime to give a pH balance of 8.5-9. After the soluble substances have settled the uncontaminated water may be drained. Isolate the insoluble contamination and if possible drain by means of filtration, otherwise mix with sawdust and dispose of as chemical waste.  Properties Strong acidic product containing nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid. Fully miscible with water. Suitable only for use on austenitic stainless steel. ROCHEMITE prevents slag build-up by means of a chemical reaction.  It also removes existing combustion deposits and slag from the refractory coating and metal fireside surfaces of boiler tubes, superheaters, exhaust gas uptakes and exhaust gas boilers.  SPECIFICATIONS Colour   : Grey or Brown Apparent Density  : 0.9 Flash point  : None Chlorides   : None Shelf-life   : Indefinite  APPLICATION ROCHEMITE is injected into the boiler furnace first or second draft depending on boiler type and construction.  A minimum gas temperature of only 300°C is required for effective cleaning as ROCHEMITE does not burn but forms a dense vapour that reaches into all parts of the boiler reacting with the fireside deposits and reducing these to a soft powder.  Manual cleaning and soot blowing is reduced to a minimum or can even be eliminated completely.  Reaction with Rochemite forms a protective film on clean surfaces thus preventing attack by aggressive acids in both high an low temperature zones.  CORROSION PROTECTION Combustion deposits in untreated boilers contain Sulphur compounds resulting in a pH of 1 to 3.  Although this means that the slag is corrosive, nothing is known about the total acid content. However both pH and acid content influence each other. For example, if the pH increases by one point the acid content correspondingly decreases by 90%. ROCHEMITE increases the pH and consequently reduces the acid content in such a way that free sulphuric acid (H2SO4) is kept to a minimum; Thus the presence of Ferreous Sulphate (FeSO4) is eliminated.  ROCHEMITE prevents Sulphur corrosion when applied regularly.  DOSAGE A. Injection – oil / Coal Fired boilers The dosage depends on the Boilers capacity, type of fuel used and Sulphur content thereof. 1. The required quantity of ROCHEMITE is blown, by means of an injector, into the furnace, if possible into the highest temperature zone of the flame. 2. Inject ROCHEMITE after soot blowing has been completed. Inject in the shortest possible time. 3. If possible reduce the draft in the boiler for 2-4 minutes during and after injection in order to allow the ROCHEMITE vapour to spread throughout the boiler. 4. The speed of the chemical reaction is greater at higher temperatures. 5. The part of the boiler to be treated in particular should not be at a distance greater than 10-12 meter from the injection point.  B. Injection – Diesel Engines uptakes/ Exhaust Gas Boilers  To prevent slag build-up in exhaust gas uptakes and boilers, ROCHEMITE is applied as follows: 1. Fit injector in exhaust gas line just prior to or just after the turbo charger. 2. Inject ROCHEMITE with compressed air for a few seconds. 3. Inject ROCHEMITE only at full load of engine as a temperature of minimum 300°C is required to vaporize ROCHEMITE. 4. Dosage and frequency depend on fuel consumption, fouling problem, etc and may vary from 2 to 4 kg every day to every three days. 

DESCRIPTION ROCHEM ROCOR OC is a combined dispersant and anti-foulant and corrosion inhibitor which is specially formulated for the prevention of scale, deposits and corrosion in open fresh water, cooling systems.  It is formulated from Polyphosphates, organophosphates and Polyacrylates.  PHYSICAL CHARACTERICS Appearance   : Clear Liquid Specific Gravity  : 1.10 to 1.20 Flash Point  : None Freezing Point  : 0 Degrees Cent.  USAGE ROCHEM ROCOR OC is intended for the cleaning and prevention of scale in open recirculating systems.  It will disperse scale and corrosive products, silt etc and can be used as an anti-foulant along with other treatments.  ROCHEM ROCOR OC can be applied in all types of open circulating fresh water cooling systems as it does not contain chromates, zinc or other metals.  ROCHEM ROCOR OC does not affect nylon, neoprene or rubber jointings.  This product does not require additional acid treatment, apart from some isolated cases.  ADVANTAGES Clean Surfaces  - Maximum heat transfer Maximum throughput - Higher efficiency Less Cleaning  - Reduced Maintenance Less down time  - Increased production Non Toxic  - Safe in use  DOSAGE The dosage required depends on the quality of the supply water and the cycles of concentration and will generally vary from 0.5 – 1 liter per 10 Tons of Cooling Water.  Control is by simple colourismetric test.  TEST PROCEDURE The Cooling Water regularly to be checked for pH, total hardness and chloride content, pH should be preferably 8.5 and total hardness and chloride content as low as possible.  Determine total phosphate by Rochem Test Kit.  This should be maintained between 20 and 30 ppm.  Full technical service is available to support this product.  APPLICATION ROCHEM ROCOR OC is best fed continuously from the drum or from a stock dilution tank.  The slug feed method can also be used.  CAUTION ROCHEM ROCOR OC should not be taken internally and any skin and eye contamination should be washed off with copious amount of fresh water.

When the emulsion is broken up, the entrained water separates to the bottom of the tank for easy removal.  At the same time Rochem Sludge Breaker reduces the surface and interfacial tension of the crude or fuel oil thus stabilising it in storage and preventing reformation of the sludge.  APPLICATION and DOSAGE  Rochem Sludge Breaker is applied directly to the tanks requiring treatment. Maintaining tank contents and  Sludge Breaker at 30°C or above produces even better results. Dosage varies from 1 Litre per 1 ton to 4 Litres per 1 ton depending on the type of sludge, viscosity and amount of water contamination and the condition of the tank.  Start with a dosage of 1 Litre per ton tank capacity on a clean tank to 4 Litres per ton capacity on a tank containing sludge.  HANDLING PRECAUTIONS  Care should be taken not to get this product in your eyes or in repeated or prolonged contact with the skin.  In case of accidental contact with skin or eyes, immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.  Wash contaminated clothing before re-use.

DESCRIPTION  ROCIDE BC - 601 is a liquid broad-spectrum microbiocide, based on organo sulfer compound, for use in open recirculating systems.  PURPOSE  Rocide BC 601 is an ideal broad-spectrum biocide, being effective against most kinds of bacteria, algae and fungi.  It is a particularly useful product for air-wash systems and is compatible with all commonly used antifoulants and corrosion inhibitors.  ADVANTAGES  1. Compatible with other treatments.  FEED REQUIREMENTS  Routine dosage of Rocide BC 601 is 50 to 100 ppm based on the total water capacity of the system.  Dosage will be necessary once or twice per week depending on the severity of the problem.  For badly fouled systems, a higher dosage of 100 to 150 ppm should be given initially for the first one or two weeks.  METHOD OF FEEDING   The calculated quantity of biocide should be added directly to the system at any convenient point.  HANDLILNG  Harmful if taken internally and not for use in potable water systems.  Any skin or eye contamination should be thoroughly washed with water.  Seek medical attention if necessary

DESCRIPTION ROCOR NB Liquid is the ideal corrosion inhibitor and anti-scalant for closed heating or cooling systems, such as diesel engines, compressors, process-cooling systems, chilled water systems etc. Rocor NB Liquid is a non-chromate, nonphosphate, free flowing liquid that is extremely effective for controlling corrosion while avoiding the pollution and toxicity problems associated with chromate based inhibitors. ADVANTAGES 1. Controls attack on piping, valves, pumps and heat exchangers by forming a protective film on all exposed metal surfaces – iron, steel copper alloys, aluminium and brass. 2. Prevents deposition of copper on ferrous surfaces by “tying up” any copper which might be introduced. Does not contain chromates ; does not colour the treated water, thereby eliminating the possibility of staining. 7. Liquid form simplifies usage and eliminates waste. APPLICATION Feed Rocor NB Liquid at any convenient point in the system with a chemical dosing pump or slug feed by using an appropriate by-pass feeder. Rochem can supply suitable dosing equipment. DOSAGE Concentration level in the system must not be allowed to drop below 1500 ppm as nitrite (NO2). For economical reasons try to maintain nitrite level between 1500 ppm to 2000 ppm although higher nitrite levels will not cause operating difficulties. Nitrite level is obtained by using a simple colurimetric test for nitrite.

ROCHEM DPP contains an emulsion breaker which separates the water from the oil.  This separation will also reduce some serious fireside slags.  The sodium ion in saltwater if carried into the combustion chamber will reduce the melting point of vanadium forming a molten slag.   COMBUSTION CATALYST ROCHEM DPP contains combustion catalysts which function by providing the fastest possible reaction time of the air fuel mixture assuring that complete combustion is achieved in the shortest time possible.  This results in the minimization of soot, fly ash, intermediate combustion products and unburned particulate matter.  ROCHEM DPP will prevent LOW TEMPERATURE CORROSION by allowing minimum excess air conditions to be approached as a result of improved combustion reactions and by eliminating the catalytic effect that produces sulphur trioxide.  ROCHEM DPP further protects against low temperature corrosion by preventing acidic deposits of particulate matter.  By way of review, sulphur dioxide and sulphur trioxide are normal combustion products when firing fuels containing sulphur. The concentration of sulphur trioxide in the flue gas in relation to sulphur dioxide is dependant on the excess air employed and the presence of vanadium and iron oxide.  It has been estimated that 75% of the sulphur trioxide is formed from sulphur dioxide in the combustion area.  The reaction occurs as a result of sulphur dioxide combining with nascent oxygen and is aided by the catalytic effect of vanadium and iron oxide.  Sulphur trioxide concentration in the flue gas determines the acid dew point.  Acid dew point is defined as that temperature at which the  water vapour present in the flue gas as a result of combustion can combine with sulphur trioxide to form sulphuric acid.  Low temperature corrosion results when the flue gas cools below the acid dew point.  This condition is found in pre-heaters, economizers, cold end of boilers and in the stack.  This problem is particularly severe when maximum heat recovery from the flue gas is desired.
