Paramedics can be defined as a practice in the field of medical science that deals with pre-hospital emergency services. A person working in this field is referred to as a paramedic. They work as an emergency medical care provider, who provides primary medical and trauma care. The major areas of work in the field of paramedical sciences are spinal injury management, fracture management, obstetrics, management of burns and assessment, and evaluation of general incident scene. The paramedical sciences include the following courses in our college:

The National Forest Policy recommended that 33% of the total geographical area, of the country, be brought under forests, whereas only 17.6 % of the area is under forests as per SFR 2009. The ever rising needs of the society for the tangible and intangible products of the forests, importance for the forest management opens up a large vista of employment to the government bodies, NGOs, Research institutions, wood based industries and the multidisciplinary self employment opportunities as an entrepreneur or consultant. The course involves field studies, visits to the industries, renowned institutions, field practicals deliberations from the expert speakers, internal seminar, model presentation, assignments. The forestry lab is well equipped with the requisite number of instruments related to biometery, survey & engineering, wood science, entomology, remote sensing, botanical studies, soil testing equipments like flamp photometer, Kjldhal apparatus, germinator, different types of clinometers, GPS instrument, Range finder etc.

Zoology is an aspect of science that deals with the study of the animal evolution, habitat and behaviour. Zoology is important for students to have an appreciation for nature. Our nature is not just composed of the humans but of plants and animals as well. Everything in our environment is connected with a complex cycle. If one has a better understanding of how animals would behave and interact with us, he would appreciate nature in a better way.
Objectives

Studying this subject would help people know the real facts about animals. Zoology has a wide field offering many career opportunities for research, because there still is a great deal to learn about it. A career in Zoology offers an opportunity to make a differerence to the planet´s ecology through conservation work.
Scope

    Future employment prospects for zoologist are excellent.
    Students of M.Sc in Zoology are equally preferred for jobs in Public as well as Private sector.
    They can apply for the position of Project Fellows.
    Research offers great opportunity as a Junior Research Fellow, Senior Research Fellow or Research associates.
    They have the option to join Forensic laboratories as Scientific Assistants.

Laboratory Zoology Deptt.

We make small animal collection consisting.The goals for this collection is to:

    Learn to visually recognize some of the animals common to the area
    Learn something about the ecology and behavior of these animals
    Learn how to use identification manuals and keys
    Become acquainted with the taxonomy and classification of animals, and
    Learn how to properly preserve and label museum specimens.

Following sets of instruments are used in zoology lab: Microscope, Binocular Microscope, Dissecting Microscope, Heating Mental, Hot Air oven etc.

The aim of the course helps to develop a valuable mental ability, to visualize any mathematical problem, with a powerful innovative way of thinking that our ancestors have developed over three thousand years. Professional mathematicians think in a peculiar way to solve real time problems, problems that can arise from the everyday world, from science, from within mathematics itself. This course helps to develop those innovative ways of thinking and visualization of inherent facts.

The life sciences comprise the fields of science that involve the scientific study of living organisms, such as microorganisms, plants, animals, and human beings, related to considerations like bioethics. While biology remains the centerpiece of the life sciences, technological advances in molecular biology and biotechnology have led to a burgeoning of specializations and new, often interdisciplinary, fields.

The college is equipped with a fully computerized library, functioning on the basis of an “open access system”. It houses over Twelve thousand books with more than 600 titles and subscribes to 30 journals/periodicals and eight, leading newspapers. The library also contains a number of encyclopedia. Students are provided the facility of computers with high speed internet connectivity and access to e-journals. The library functions from 9.00 am to 5.30 pm on all working days.

A number of Reference books are available for consultation on various subjects. More than 10,000 ebooks are available for consultation and studies. Students are encouraged to read journals and magazine to keep abreast of the latest development in their fields of study. Book Bank facility is also available and a number of books on each subject are available for consultation and are issued to the students, as and when, they desire, through authenticated library cards. Library rules and regulations are in vouge.

    The term hostel means any dwelling/building rented or arranged by the Institute for the use of its bonafide students in or around the college.
    No person other than bonafide resident of hostel is allowed to enter the hostel premises without prior permission of the college authorities.
    The hostlers are required to maintain strict discipline, timely arrival and departure, proper and permitted use of water, electricity and appliances etc. Daily 3 hrs.4.30 to 7.30 pm outgoing is permitted. On sunday full day out going from 09 am. to 6 pm.(Timing can be changed at any time if necessity arrises). Note: - During examinations or any emergency outing can be stopped for prescribed period.
    Hostlers are required to obey warden, hostel manager and the authorized representatives of the Institute.
    Keeping guests, taking alcohol, smoking, gambling, wasting resources like water and electricity, damaging hostel property. Staying outside in the night, interfaring in the running of the mess, involving in ragging etc. are punishable.
    No washing or ironing of clothes is permitted except the under garments. If any body wants to wash clothes in hostel it can allowed on the payment they have to pay Rs. 3000/-per year in advance, defaulters will be penalized (Rs. 10 per cloth).
    Candidates should deposit the part of annual rent (Min. 6000/-)in advance in the month of April, otherwise the management will not be responsible for the non-availability of accommodation in the ensuring sessions.
    Hostel security will be refunded three months after vacating the hostel. No hostel charges will be refundable whether one stays or vacates the hostel in the middle of the session or what so ever be the reason. Hostel charges are valid till 30th June of every year. Whether you joined temporarily.
    Hostel charges includes mess charges also and are to be paid in advance at the time of joining.
    Any complaints either regarding hostel facilities or mess arrangements should be brought in the notice of the warden in writing. Arguments with hostel or mess staff will be punishable.
    Each room has separate electricity meter. All room mates will have to pay electricity bill collectively as per meter reading every month.
    Food is provided three times on six days of week. On sunday only two time-(brunch and dinner) will be provided. No food facility during vacations. Seperate canteen facility is available.
    The management reserves the right to alter the existing rules and regulations as and when necessary.
    Bed, mattress, separate cupboard, table, chair, fan, curtain, light and hot water in winters are included in our hostel facilities.

It has been experienced that young students take some time to adjust to the change in climatic condition of Doon valley; they face initial small problems related to digestion or minor infections. The college has a first aid center called MI Room for providing immediate first aid to the needy students. It works under the guidance of a registered medical practitioner. First aid, medicines, dressing are readily available in the MI Room. After providing the necessary first aid, the acting students are referred to the higher medical care centers and constant watch of progress is kept by the college. In house transport facility (college vans) is also available in the college to facilitate the students for various industrial visits and field tours.
